If you go to New York you can go almost anywhere on a subway. For a city the size of Toronto our subway system is laughable. But lets add more streetcars (a mode of transportation eliminated in almost every other juristiction).

Personally, I think the subway to Vaughn is retarded and a waste. We need a relief line downtown as the Yonge Line is basically at capacity and also the east and west like you mentioned. That's going to take some serious cash though which would probably involve service charges and or some sort of tax...

I have no problems with tax when they go to good causes. Most of what council does is not in that category.

Did anyone else hear the clown Adam Vaughan on the Dean Blundell show this morning?

Adam is a moron.

His arguments could have been written by the Usual Suspects. Full of hyperbole and emotion. Pandering to the anti gun ideologues.

Bear, you'd have loved listening to the talking heads when Edmonton was pushing a knife ban. It was beyond ridiculous.

Are you kidding me?

Please tell me you're pulling my leg!

Our Mayor backed an attempted ban on knives... sales as well as possession if I recall correctly, but definitely sales. So, the city of Edmonton would be knife free. We had too many young men getting stabbed at 3 in the morning on Whyte Ave.

Steak night just woulda really sucked. lol.

I'm torn between the feeling of comfort that the poor people of Toronto are not alone. And terrified that the poor people of Edmonton are not alone.

LOL guess common sense is not required when applying for a position in politics.

The ironic part is that I'd been fairly content with gun control laws up until that point. It was such a parody of them though, and done in all seriousness, that I can't help but scoff now.
