That seems to be restricted to some subdivisions located away from the core and the industrial areas. It looks like trailers pretty much melt in an inferno

I went into a restaurant for supper. When we came out a couple of hours later we were met by the strong smell of smoke.it must be drifting down from the north.

It would make no difference the wildfires will burn until rains come
Tempest in a teapot we have not had to rely on these countries in
the past except America and then we've gone there on occasion.

Geez, skip the international, just look at the Alberta governmental:
"SHOCKING: Here’s why Canada’s largest water bomber wasn’t “available” to fight wildfire in Fort Mac"
http://www.therebel.media/shocking_...asn_t_available_to_fight_wildfire_in_fort_mac
The company, nearby in BC, even offered one for free, and the Alberta government hasn't assed for it
(haha, first one's always free)

i guess there are lots of jobs, and fed dis asster monies in cleaning up, etc...

If you were met by the strong smell of smoke on the way in, would you still have eaten there?

Yes, if I was met with the strong smell of smoke, on the way in I would have still eaten there. I would have figured out where the smell was. Surprise, surprise, the people I was with, said the same thing.

another example of Gunn's stupidity and another example of why she should have stayed in the kitchen. From the article:

"The Mars is currently going through it’s yearly inspection. "

In other words, the Mars was not available for flights.

"But due to its size, the Martin Mars can only land on and scoop up water from about 113 water bodies in B.C., as opposed to the 1,700 water bodies that other smaller amphibious scoopers can access.

It also can't drop flame retardant, and fire crews often have to stop work on fires because of the large drop pattern, according to the Forest Ministry's website.

"We appreciate the offer of assistance from Martin Mars but because their aircraft need to draw water from a large lake, they are not appropriate for fighting this fire right now," said John Archer with the Office of the Premier of Alberta.

"Martin Mars has provided assistance in the past when it was possible to draw water from Gregoire Lake, which is not possible now."
