I don't think it's morally equal for them to decide to deport him to a country in which torture occurs when they could send him to a country in which it doesn't. I mean technically I realize they can do either, but that doesn't make it right.

Some countries - such as Iran and Syria - don't recognize any right to renounce citizenship. Iranian Canadians are dual citizens whether they like it or not ..
Last I checked on the story Arar was NOT carrying two passports... His Canadian Passport indicated Syria as his place of birth which is what led to the whole thing...I will have to check, but I'm pretty sure it is actually against Canadian law to hold two Passports.
At the time, the RCMP believed the information they to be true. They failed to pass on the correct info, when it came to light.
Let me repeat: Neither Syria, nor Iran give their citizens the right to renounce their citizenship.
ITN posts because he's driven to survive and do what he can to save a sinking ship built by Americans who believe they harbor a natural superiority to the rest of the world and being manned by a dry-drunk Texan who's been unable to maintain the fraud of his "patriotism".
There was a photo journalist who was a Canadian of Iranian decent, (forgive me for forgetting her name) who had dual citizenship forced on her and she was beaten to death by Iranian police.
