Personally, this is very insulting. The two official languages should be available everywhere in Canada. Jesus was French, after all.

It's very odd. Kentville isn't designated as a bilingual office, but if there is an employee in that office who speaks French, why can't she serve a customer in French?

Perhaps because the manager feels he won't be able to solve any disputes or concerns that arise from instructions given in a language he/she doesn't understand? Or that they are concerned about an employee bumbling said instructions because their french hasn't been tested?
