What does Christmas shopping have to do with French-English culture? Christmas is a borrowed festival and many of its customs have little or nothing to do with Christianity. Also what has Christianity to do with the entire issue? About 30% of Canadians have no religion. And what does most of your rant have to do with immigration? Are you implying that it is immigrants who commit the majority of crime in Canada? If so I think you better check your crime statistics. BTW there is no law in Canada against carrying knives. I carry one all the time; only I don't carry it in plain sight as Sikhs do. And my knife is not ornamental; it actually works as a knife. Also it is white Christians who are most seriously challenging laws against more than one wife, not Muslims.

Well Christmas was an example of a culture practiced in Canada from time European settlers came to this land. It has been recognized as a day of celebration made a statutory Holliday!! As the majority had wanted. The birth of Christ has been celebrated throughout the world for what 2010 years! Now I don't give a ____ if you are of other faith or what. I'm not offended when a Buddhist wishes me greetings on their faith days! I'm actually proud that we can co-exist. But many places have changed Christmas greetings to happy holidays as not to offend non-Christians. It is a pleasant well wishing greeting to all! It is a tradition practiced for over 2,000 years, leave Christ in Christmas!
So you are saying that you carry a knife that is illegal? There is a difference between a pocket knife where we may peel fruit cut thread kind of knife to a dagger made mainly for the purpose of taking life!
The issue of taking more than 1 wife is not who is wishing to alter, more so that it is being challenged! There are areas where this is legal, so if one is so inclined move there! Oh you want the protection of our system health care and such but want the things from other places. Like said start to bend law to suit may as well just ditch all laws and have strongest most manipulative prevail. So go out and get your m-16 take out your neighbours to have their land b4 they get you. GET REAL our laws and rules make this a country to be, start to screw with fundamental ways destroy what we have! I have had friends/co-workers that were Muslim They may practice their faith and such, I won't object but then don't object when I say something as harmless as merry Christmas. Don't tell me that a nativity display in store front or someone’s front lawn. It would be like going to the Caribbean and telling them they cannot practice carrabana, it is their culture who would we be to change their traditions??

You're blaming the wrong people...

It's been predominantly white, guilty feeling, PC, Liberals pandering for votes, that have been at the head of the demise of overtly "Christian" greetings.

Not immigrants as a whole.

Not rightly finger pointing at anyone in general, Just merely saying stop this BS. Leave our polygamy law, and maintain free speech, which includes merry Christmas, happy Hanukah, happy Chinese new year, and all other non-violent religious traditions events ect. Periodically I like choice to sample different cultures in my backyard. As long as it does not promote violence bring it on. Enjoy it the way it is. Canada is world renowned for its peacekeeping efforts throughout. We as a people are welcomed many places in the world. It is a society that has been built on Christian fundamentals, which have done us proud. Do not change our basic ways!

Not rightly finger pointing at anyone in general,
No just generalizing and fear mongering with BS and serious leaps in logic.

Just merely saying stop this BS.
Good idea.

Leave our polygamy law, and maintain free speech, which includes merry Christmas, happy Hanukah, happy Chinese new year, and all other non-violent religious traditions events ect.
I say Merry Christmas all the time, season permitting. I'm still free.

Periodically I like choice to sample different cultures in my backyard.
So do I, that's why any party that stands on the premise that immigration should be stopped, should get off the ground.

As long as it does not promote violence bring it on. Enjoy it the way it is. Canada is world renowned for its peacekeeping efforts throughout. We as a people are welcomed many places in the world. Again, all enshrined in the Charter.

So where's the threat?

I'm sorry but the ten comandments are/were the fundemental blocks that our laws were based on!
Oh please, not that silly old claim again. Have you read the Ten Commandments lately? The first four are the prohibition against worship of any deity but God, the prohibition of idolatry, prohibition of using the name of God for vain purposes, and the requirement to observe the Sabbath. Nowhere are those enforced in any modern legal system. Five others are honouring your parents, prohibiting murder, adultery, stealing, and lying. Those are just common sense rules necessary in any well-ordered society, you'll find some version of them, and sanctions for breaking them, in any civilization, including those that have never seen the Ten Commandments. They're neither unique nor original to the Old Testament, though I should also point out that failing to honour your parents and committing adultery won't get you arrested, and lying usually won't either, they're not illegal as such. And finally there's the prohibition against coveting all the cool stuff your neighbour has, including his wife, and note that the neighbour is a guy, his wife is part of his property in a list that includes livestock. That's a thought crime, unenforceable and stupid.
