What's your party's platform? Obviously, you don't have to give me the whole thing now, but can you tell me where you are on the political spectrum?

Well I could give you a bit of my platform, what i think should take place, but we would have to wait and see.

Environment; that the federal, provincial, local, environmentalists, and corporations reach an agreement on pollutants and n what level factories and industries pump them out. Then for a corporation that violates this agreement, it gets a stern warning the first time, and a second violation within a year period would result in 200,000 dollar fine. Also, promoting inititives for public transit and the lessening of non-renewable resources.

Defence; Increase military funding at least to pre-1990s levels and upgrade military equipment with regards to jeeps, aircraft and navy.

Just a question. How will you manage to get both the right leaning and left leaning members to cooperate?

Well first off, it would be a party that clearly states that other members thoughts and ideas will be respected. And that anyone from any kind of background will respectfully co-operate with someone who might have different views to that person.

Then, get them into a room and work away.

Get rid of the monarchy :p

Depends on whose apart of the party. If the majority believe that the monarchy would have to go, it would probably be put in the platform.

My personal view on the monarchy is that it is an important symbol of Canada, but Canada is evolving and it might need to pass in the next few years.

Yeah the life of brian comment is what I was going to bring up and add. Any party.... or any government usually with "People" in it has been announted with communist, scientific socialist and or Stalinistic leanings. Also the guralla movements in the 60's 70's and 80's (as in Life of Briend) used the term often in the description of there official "party" name.

If I were to make a left leaning party or a centre left party as if there's not already a dozen of them out there. Canadian Action party was one, also for awhile the national party was verybig. I would however go with something like the "Progressive Alternative Party" or do what the Germans who left the communist party and social democratic party did, call it the "Left Party" or perhaps, the Centre party. Or maybe the Democratic party, lol.

I am starting to like the sound of this party. :)

Sounds like the "party line" would be much less of an issue; a party where people could work together for the common good, yet feel safe enough to vote their conscience.

Yeah, someone that i was talking to was saying that when you put Peoples in it it seems to remind them of communism or a socialist party.

But when I say peoples, like in this party

Canadian Peoples Party, what I mean is all people in Canada, who have different values and ideologies where they work together to work on issues for the betterment of Canadian society.

And thanks for the comment Five Paradox.

They are right. Putting "people" in the name seems to bring some sort of "workers" party stigma to it.

Perhaps a word like coalition would serve you better.

Still thinking about it, when i get 250 members, there would be a vote on the name of the party.

So with coalition what would it be like,

Coalition Party or or Canadian Coalition Party?

So does anyone know how the system work and such for a party.

I'm going to phone Elections Canada again, but on the internet, it doesn't really explain who a auditor or a chief offical of your party can be except for not being apart of another party.

Also, does anyone know what a card membership looks like, and if the party does it or does Elections Canada make it up?

Well, hopefully I can get an auditor for my party in the next few days. And i will be placing my party's contact info around the university I go too.

So far to date though, no party members.
