All people know God Almighty and Most Gracious: the Creator, but most of them associate other things or objects with Him in the worship and glorification : this is the idolatry or the associating of others with God.
While others: the atheists: they in fact ignore God or deny Him.
At last all people will submit themselves to God : the believers submit willingly, while the atheists and idolaters will be compelled to submit themselves in the Hereafter after death, when they will suffer the punishment.
The question still remains, whose god? Yours? Pete’s? Jews god? The various great spirits native have?

Absolutely not.
Yeah, I'll buy that, we are part of something larger than ourselves. It may be just our common humanity and our social instincts, but there's something there alright. And to your remark about spirit I'll add, in my experience of real life people who are unaware of that are, without exception, not people I want to know.

I won't. "Common humanity?" You've heard of the Holocaust, right? Well, guess what? It wasn't even the worst, just the best-documented.

Genocide, slavery, war, torture, human trafficking. Historically these things are the norm, not the exception. "Common humanity" my ass.

Are you saying humans are animals? Really? So why dont you expect humans to not delve into the animalistic behaviors? Are we supposed to be peaceful and tame unlike all the other critters?

I think you misunderstand me. In the big picture, you're right, I was thinking smaller than that. We are indeed part of something larger than ourselves, though I wouldn't give it a religious dimension. We live in communities of others, we have family, friends, co-workers, and so on, they're important to our mental health and general well being, and we don't do those kinds of things--genocide, slavery, etc.--to members of our own group. I think humans are still essentially tribal in our social instincts, so we tend to perceive in-groups (our tribe) and out-groups (others) differently, and a lot of the genocide, slavery, etc. you mention is a kind of perversion of that, we're the good guys and the out-groups are bad guys and can be treated as not quite human. The Holocaust was perpetuated by a perverted group that perceived itself as absolutely right and certain others--Jews, Slavs, Gypsies, etc.--as evil and dangerous to them. Much of it can be understood as an expression of our need to perceive ourselves as part of a group, and our many and varied shortcomings in perception and cognition lead us astray into creating and joining groups that do much harm to others in the process of self-aggrandizement. We're not really very smart, on average, As Christopher Hitchens memorably put it, our glands are too big and our brains are too small. Our problem really is to extend the in-group status to all of humanity. We've come a long way from the African savanna, our in-groups can now include nations of hundreds of millions of people, but we've been at this civilization business for a relatively short time, and it's a very hard project.

Well, my wife believes in spirits and souls and reincarnation and a bunch of other wild things that can’t be proven to exist except in overactive imaginations. Sorta like people that believe in a god.

No it's not, they will mix and come to an intermediate temperature. Try it.

The answer:
Try it yourself. At the start, the hot water will be above the cold water, then after a while they may mix.
So if you want to have a warm water, don't pour the hot water on the cold water: if you pour the hot water on the cold water, it will not mix immediately, because the hot tends to be above, and the cold tends to be below.
But pour the cold water on the hot water: the cold water will go down and will immediately mix to give you a warm water.

No it's not, they will mix and come to an intermediate temperature. Try it.

They're less dense *because* they're hotter than the air around them. How do you think a hot air balloon works, by reducing the force of gravity on the balloon?

Then why don't all clouds sink down to the ground? They're just fog up high, where the air has cooled below its dew point. Fog doesn't come down to the ground, it forms near the ground when the ground is cooler than the air above it and cools the air below it's dew point, or air masses of different temperatures and humidities flow together over the ground and cause condensation as the mixing cools the warmer, wetter air below its dew point.

No it's not true, temperature is unrelated to gravitational forces. You understand less than nothing about this and I'm done trying to convince you of anything about it, your ignorance is relentless, wilful, and inexcusable. With all the resources of the internet available to you, you persist in these delusions when you could easily verify everything I've said with a little searching. You will find no legitimate scientific references to temperature affecting gravitational forces. But no doubt you'd reject that too, 400 years worth of work by scientists and engineers all over the planet is trumped by medieval superstition in your world.
The disbeliever rejoices with his conceit.
So you give assumptions and insist on them considering that is science.
No objection to science, but the objection is to your deduction out of true science, clinging to theories not to facts: like the Evolution Theory and your claim it is true and the white race and others came from the savanna of Africa. While you and others did not witness their creation to assert this.
Before, I told you that you are stick to textbooks and refuse to consider any wrong with them, which is not the scientific way of thinking.
So no objection to 400 years and in fact much more years of scientific progress.. the weird thing is that you consider yourself correct in every detail, and revealing to others that I am against the true science, and that the Quran is against science, but this is false and is the falsehood.

Today I read an aya in the Quran 15: 22, which means:
(And We send the winds: fertilizing to [the fruit f and the cloud g], and so We send down [rain] water from the sky h, and We give the [water] to you to drink; it is not you, [people], who store up the [water in the earth, in mountains and seas] i.)
........................................................................................................................................................................................

f When the wind passes on trees and plants, it carries with it the pollens of the male to the female plant, so this latter will be pollenated or impregnated and the fruit will be formed.
g While about its fertilizing effect on the cloud [formation]: the wind carries with it the dust particles, then when such particles collide with the snow particles, that are scattered in the space, such snow particles will melt to become the rain, because of these dust particles and because of the heat of the wind,.
h i.e. from the gaseous layers.
i But it is We Who store it in the earth, in the mountains and in the seas and We make to flow, out of this ‘stored’ [water], rivers and fountains and out of rivers and fountains, We give you water to drink.

I have, many times, in doing things like preparing bath water for babies. You cannot pour hot water into cold water gently enough to prevent mixing.
Try it in a glass of water to drink it immediately: the hot powered on the cold will not immediately mix; so if you want to drink a warm water glass add the cold water to the hot water, which will give you an immediate warm water drink.

Its all about death and destruction for you. Its sad you cant find and appreciate the beauty and joy.
Death is the destiny of man: sooner or later.
The disbeliever does not believe in the Afterlife and the Hereafter.
Therefore, the wise man should think and consider seriously his future life following death, and prepare himself and for himself whatever charity he can give: like food, clothes etc. to find the spirits of all that in the Next Life or the Hereafter or the Afterlife.

Quran 59: 18, which means:
(O you who believe, ward off God's [disobedience]; let every soul consider what [good work] it has forwarded for tomorrow [following death a.]
And ward off [the disobedience of the messenger of] God; [for] God is Most Aware of [all] that you do.
b)
............................................................................................................................................................

a It means: for the day of its going from the life of the World to the Next Life; because the death appointment is imminent; it may be he will die tomorrow.
b So, following your death, He will take you to account about your deeds.

Pretty much. When we do subject members of our own group to such evils we first redefine those people so they become outsiders somehow, guilty of something that nullifies their group membership and they become enemies. The Inquisition mastered that trick very well.
So, you said, in effect, "We don't do that to members of our own groups," and then you described the process by which we do it to members of our own groups.

See the problem?

If you’d actually done that yourself you’d know it’s not true.

No. Seems pretty clear to me that I said we do it to people who’ve been removed from the group. Heresy has historically proven useful for that, though it doesn’t have the weight it once did.
OK, there are plenty of ways people get removed from groups, as you say. Another one is classically what happened to the Jews in Germany: long accepted, integrated members of the community, suddenly cast out and murdered.

But even within the most intimate of groups, the family, there's plenty of spousal and child abuse: physical, mental, emotional, and sexual. Again, this happens frequently enough that I really don't think it can be labelled and outlier.

Thus, I consider your "sense of common humanity," even in the smallest and most intimate of groups, to be a very unsteady and changeable thing.
