Not sure if you'd want a connection with the good ole boys.

Neil loves Skynrd.
  • Young:Lynyrd Skynyrd almost ended up recording Powderfinger before my version came out. We sent them an early demo of it because they wanted to do one of my songs.

Interviewer Q. Surprising, that. After all, Lynyrd Skynyrd put you down by name on Sweet Home Alabama, their first hit single....

Young: Oh, they didn't really put me down! But then again, maybe they did! (laughs) But not in a way that matters. ****, I think Sweet Home Alabama is a great song. I've actually performed it live a couple of times myself. "
As to his talk of being Canadian, he hasn't been Canadian in a long time, he is an American who pulls out his citizen when it is convenient to him.

His alliance with the Northern Natives is sort of puzzling, considering the fact that many of those northern reserves are so dependent on carbon. The City of Yellowknife, the reserves of Edzo, Rae and numerous other communities in the north draw power directly from the burning of diesel.

In fact, the company that has the contract to deliver fuel and supplies to the diamond mines is the Tli Cho Group, 100% aboriginal owned.

I wonder if Neil would like to see them shut down? I didn't see him standing with those aboriginal people.

Neil Young is just another ill informed hypocrite, much like the guy who starts all these threads.

praises Rachel Notley on carbon tax... just like those industry executives who were at the Notley press conference... just like those oil companies who have been lobbying for a carbon tax the last year.

Entertainers thrive off of attention. It's their daily bread. Don't know the man so can't say much more beyond that. Maybe to one degree or another we're all hypocritical in some areas. I always wonder why entertainers opinions seem to matter more than the everyday person.
