They (collectively ) are so full of hot air........they could keep the hot air balloon industry in business for years. And particularly , don't pay heed to those who are determined to smear you /your son /your family ......when they have no valid arguement to support their unsupportable position. Only the reptilian in nature would resort to such dirty tactics. Anything to condemn Cindy? Anything? How about the words of her own family who condemn her?

:roll: :lol: :lol: :lol: Her own family? Hardly. I mean, I notice the "Sheehan Family Statement" is signed "Casey Sheehan’s grandparents, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.” Who are these people? Do none of them have names?

(Quote on this from Cindy Sheehan): " ... my in-laws sent out a press statement disagreeing with me in strong terms; which is totally okay with me, because they barely knew Casey. We have always been on separate sides of the fence politically and I have not spoken to them since the election when they supported the man who is responsible for Casey's death. The thing that matters to me is that our family -- Casey's dad and my other 3 kids are on the same side of the fence that I am."

So, these anonymous signatories belong to Mrs Sheehan's ex-husband's family - the only actual name we have is that of one Cherie Quarterolo, who says she is "Casey's aunt and godmother", and who seems to be quite upset that - and I quote - "We can't walk down the street without people stopping us and telling us that they agree with Cindy."

Thank you for reinforcing my point even deeper. Cindy has admitted that this statement is true, and Casey's father and his parents are equal in importance relatively speaking. And I mean as relatives and as a comparison to his mother and her family.

No, thank you for etc ... the statement was from the ex-husband's family, not Casey's father. "Casey Sheehan’s grandparents, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins." 8O

The only person who attached a name to the statement was "Casey's aunt and godmother". Mother trumps godmother, as this is a game to you.

That's because the California woman's husband--in a curious bit of timing--filed for divorce Friday afternoon (below you'll find a copy of Patrick Sheehan's complaint, lodged August 12 in Solano County District Court). With Sheehan, 48, entering a second week outside Bush's Crawford retreat, her husband's divorce petition cites "irreconcilable differences" for the demise of the couple's 28-year marriage (the Sheehans, the document states, have been separated since June 1). Along with a Vacaville home, Patrick Sheehan listed other "community assets" as "any and all benefits payable as a result of son's death," including a Prudential insurance policy and "benefits from the U.S. Government." Here is a kid, a hero who fought for his country having his name tarnished my his hypocritical mother.

Yes, hypocritical. This is a woman who is unstable with absolutely no credibility. Last year, when her son died, she praised President Bush for his efforts on the war against terrorism and now all of a sudden she has turned against him. Seems she has caught the flip-flop bug.

Here is what she said after a meeting with the President in June 2004 (about 2 months after the April 2004 death of her son)...

"I now know Bush is sincere about wanting freedom for the Iraqis, I know he's sorry and feels some pain for our loss. And I know he's a man of faith. That was the gift the president gave us, the gift of happiness, of being together."

Also, what Cindy Sheehan fails to understand is her son wasn't drafted to join the army, he voluntarily enlisted because he believed in fighting for his country. No one told him he had to go fight, so what is she complaining about? It was his decision to go!!! President Bush did not tell him to enlist!!!

So why then is Georgie boy afraid to speak with her? Hmmm... GOP

The right-wing attack dogs have made the rounds since Sheehan began her protest, working most of the shows on Fox News Channel, and its Fox-lite competitor, MSNBC.

And thank goodness for Comedy Central's The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, which perhaps better than any news outlet amplifies the lunacy of the conservative punditry. If it can show hypocrisy, all the better.

Here's an unofficial transcript from the Aug. 15 show:

STEWART: The Cindy Sheehan saga has many on the right fuming over her decision to go so public with her anguish.

MICHELLE MALKIN (on MSNBC's Hardball): I do think she has turned her private personal pain into a public circus.




MELANIE MORGAN (on Fox News): She is also a person who has had a political agenda for a lot longer than her son has been dead.

FRED BARNES (on Fox News): She's a crackpot.

STEWART: Yeah, she's a crackpot. I mean, who in their right mind raises an altar boy, eagle scout, honor student marine? What kind of parent was this woman? (Makes cuckoo sound.)

But this is hardly the first time a private family nightmare has become a national political flashpoint. Only a few months ago, the Terri Schiavo case unfolded with a similar narrative. And to his credit, Fred Barnes was just as blunt in his criticism of that grieving family.

BARNES (3/22/05, on Fox News): The parents, uh, of Terri Schiavo rather, I think have a strong moral case.

I am writing to request that you meet with Ms. Cindy Sheehan, grieving mother of Army Specialist Casey Sheehan, killed April 4, 2004 in Iraq. Mr. Sheehan was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, at Fort Hood in your own home state of Texas. Specialist Sheehan paid the ultimate price for our country and surely you can honor that sacrifice by meeting with his mother to discuss the issues that trouble her about her great loss.

Mr. President, you asked many Americans to risk the ultimate sacrifice for this great nation of ours and thousands, including young Casey Sheehan, answered your call. Unfortunately, thousands of mothers now know Ms. Sheehan's pain; millions more fear it. Now is the time to honor these young men and women, and to honor Ms. Sheehan's request. One way we honor those who died in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom is by respecting the needs of the families they left behind.

I understand, Mr. President, that you have seen Ms. Sheehan on at least two occasions as you drove past her encampment near your ranch in Crawford, Texas. Please, Mr. President, don't drive by a mother who has lost her son in a war you fully support. America cannot stand another drive by. Meet with her, Mr. President, or surely she will be joined by many other grieving mothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, brothers, and fathers whose loved ones lost their lives for you in Iraq. The meeting she seeks is to discuss the circumstances of her son's death. Her request is reasonable and I support her call to meet with you.

Mr. President, the parents of troops still stationed in Iraq, and the parents of young Americans who may be called to Iraq or who are currently being recruited to join the military are watching you right now. I ask that you reconsider your decision not to meet with Ms. Sheehan and offer her your personal condolences--not just for her, but for our country and the millions who are now watching both you and her.

O'Reilly Desperate To Destroy Sheehan But Fails
Tonight Bill O'Reilly was determined to prove that his portrayl of Cindy Sheehan as a "far left" radical intent on embarrassing President Bush was accurate. He devoted three segments to Cindy Sheehans destruction and became increasingly agitated when his guests failed to give him the answers he wanted. While talking to Joe Trippi, O'Reilly said that Sheehan had lied backing down when Trippi condemned the hate rhetoric. The more O'Reilly attacked Cindy Sheehan, the worse he looked himself.8/15/05

During the talking points segment, O'Reilly was quite pleased that the New York Times had printed a retraction to an article that claimed that he had called Sheehan treasonous when he hadn't actually used the word. (He certainly implied it many times)Then Bill added that the NYT must have gotten the erroneous information from a far left website that has been going after him. ( The News Hounds?)

Next Joe Trippi appeared and was introduced as the organizer of the infamous conference call with several blogs including the News Hounds. O'Reilly kept asking Trippi in disbelief if he believed that Sheehan was a "political player" and member of the far left.Trippi was emphatic that Sheehan was independant and exactly what she appears to be. O'Reilly was annoyed, "How can you not believe it?"

O'Reilly tried another angle reading a quote from Sheehan's first meeting with Bush where she said, "I now know that President Bush is sincere. I think he is sorry and feels some pain." Unable to accept the fact that Sheehan's perception of the meeting had changed, O'Reilly claimed she was lying. By this time, he was very agitated.

Trippi went after O'Reilly for using such a charged word since there is so much hate spewing around the net because people in power use words like liar . O'Reilly actually backed down and agreed with Trippi about the word but would not concede the possibility that Cindy Sheehan had been truthful.

Next came the ex husband of Dolores Kesterman who also had a son killed in Iraq and appeared on The Factor last week. During her appearance, it was clear that O'Reilly had wanted her to denounce Sheehan but she supported her instead.

Tonight Dolores Kesterman's ex husband and his wife expressed support for the war and then O'Reilly tried to get them to bad mouth Dolores saying, "You raised Eric.Are you angry with her?" The Kesterman's seemed surprised that he would ask that question and emphatically expressed their understanding and support for Dolores and Cindy Sheehan. Not giving up, he told them that he was dissapointed that Dolores didn't agree with the idea that Eric's death was for a noble cause. The segment ended with Bill O'Reilly looking a little bit worse to his viewers .

Bill's final hope was with Joan Vennochi who he introduced as a classmate from Boston University. O'Reilly went after Vennochi for writing an article about Cinndy Sheehan that didn't mention all her left wing connections. Vennochi sarcastically answered that she had written it before O'Reilly's expose of Sheehan.

Then Vennochi nailed him and his chance for redemption tonight was gone. She advised him to stop wasting time investigating Sheehan and start investigating people like Rumsfeld and Condi Rice.Vennochi added that Bush missed a huge opportunity by not meeting with Sheehan.
That was not what Bill wanted to hear at all.

It's a tragic fact of life that personal disasters such as that suffered by the Sheehans often ends with relationships breaking down. I see no evidence that Mr Sheehan is seeking a divorce because he disagrees with his wife's position on their son's death, probably because their isn't any. That's just something you choose to infer, because it suits your own twisted take on this. I must say, I find your attempts to make a game of this family's personal tragedy incredibly shallow and mean-spirited, although that's nothing more than I'm coming to expect from you.
