You missed the point.....

When the means of oversight are destroyed, your "rights" are destroyed.

Radwanski in partiular stole more than it cost to run the CAIRS programme....

You'd rather be kept in the dark and fed horse****?

No Mikey it is you that keeps missing the point. The FTI system is still intact and still available to all. The collating system that attached the entire originating FTI request to keyword searches was removed.

Big woop!

Your's and everyone elses knee jerk reaction, is much a due about nothing. If someone made an intelligent argument for the slippery slope. I'ld agree, but I don't see that. I see a group of agenda driven whiners bleating about something they know absolutely nothing about.

Criticism of Israel is anti-Semitic, Harper says
MIKE DE SOUZACanwest News Service
Friday, May 09, 2008

Some of the criticism brewing in Canada against the state of Israel, including from some members of Parliament, is similar to the attitude of Nazi Germany in the Second World War, Prime Minister Stephen Harper warned yesterday.
"I guess my fear is what I see happening in some circles is (an) anti-Israeli sentiment, really just as a thinly disguised veil for good old-fashioned anti-Semitism, which I think is completely unacceptable," Harper said in an interview with CJAD radio.
"We learned in the Second World War that those who would hate and destroy the Jewish people would ultimately hate and destroy the rest of us as well, and the same holds today."
Harper, who was to deliver a speech in Toronto marking the 60th anniversary of Israel in the evening, blamed some of his rivals in opposition for encouraging anti-Semitism in the midst of the conflict between the Jewish state and Hezbollah in the summer of 2006 in Lebanon. At the time, Harper was criticized in some circles for being pro-Israel when he defended controversial military strikes in Beirut.
"Canada, under this government, is never going to cater to that kind of opinion," Harper said.
"I am disturbed that there are some elements in our political system, there are even some members of Parliament ... that were willing to cater to that kind of opinion."

Steve Psyco Harpercon is a very evil piece of dispensational work, the Harper party is loaded with religious fanatics of a peculiar type, half godwhacks and half bankwhacks, that's a lethal combination.
Thanks for that article, Beaver! Now we know where we stand with him on that matter! Well, he surely cannot afford to talk otherwise. Canada is a dedicated supporter of Israel, has been for years actually.

Again I lament... WHY can Canada not stay neutral!

The business of gov't is to take everyone's rights away and tell people what is good for them and supply funds and services to special friends and that sort of thing. And Canadians just keep sucking it upfrom the Hypogrits and the Cons.
I think life is too comnfortable in Canada and that's why we sit back on our laurels and let things happen albeit whining a little now and then.

DB and DL.....anyone capable of reading comprehension that looks over the threads on this site knows Harper is absolutely correct.

Notice he did not say ALL criticism of Israel was anti-Semitic......he said some of it is.

and he is right.

I know this boggles your mind, Socrates, that anyone could use the words "Harper" and "correct" in the same sentence.....but yes, I am writing of Stephen Harper, currently our Prime Minister, and yes, in this instance he is quite correct.

As he often is.

Hey Colpy good day to you,
You can call me up after the coming up election and then we can see who is correct and who is out to lunch. Don’t place any bets meanwhile.

Yes, Harper is right most of the time! Just look what he has decided now:

PM's plan will increase troops, update equipment

Prime Minister Stephen Harper has unveiled a long term plan to ensure the Canadian Forces gets new and improved equipment as well as increased numbers of troops in the years ahead.

"As the name implies the first priority of our Canada First Defence Strategy is to strengthen our ability to defend our country and protect our citizens," Harper said.
"The bottom line is that we will substantially strengthen the Canadian Forces, we will gradually increase the number of regular troops and reservists and provide them with more and better equipment to make them as effective and safe as possible."
Spending on the military will increase to $30 billion over the next 20 years, Harper said.
Part of that money will go to a strategy to recruit greater numbers of regular and reserve force troops -- including efforts such as a new television ad campaign currently running.
MacKay said the federal government's military shopping list includes search-and-rescue planes, combat helicopters and new fighter aircraft to replace Canada's CF-18 fighters.
In addition, Harper said, the plan will enhance the Canadian Forces' ability to carry-out surveillance and security in the north and will improve Canada's ability to contribute to global security and meet its commitments on continental security.

I'm not a military person! I hate wars! I'm suspicious of Harper. I believe he wants to please the US, so we can better help and support them in their wars!

I think we should rather eliminate our terrible scourge of child poverty! We should rather put more into our education system, so Canadian kids get a good and solid education.

We should rather move into the true New Age and promote peace and good will, cooperation and dialog among all nations. We should separate ourselves from the war mongering nations, and stand out as a beacon of peace and hope for all the world to notice.

I agree with you Dancing loon, the Conservatives will show a deficit during their time in office as well some brown made in the US on their noses. Harper doesn’t have the money to squander. Tax payer dollars should be spend on child poverty and the elderly instead of building up a war machine he will never have to use. He is brown nosing to Bush and Bush has driven the US on the verge of BANKRUPTCY. I AS A TAX PAYER WANT TO SEE MY TAXED DOLLARS SPEND ON PRAGMATIC ISSUES RATHER THAN BULL SH!T IDOLISM.:angryfire:
