Police identify torso found in Kitchener, Ont., trash bin

By QMI Agency

Police have identified the woman whose dismembered remains were found in a garbage bin in Kitchener, Ont., on Saturday morning.
Waterloo Regional Police said Tuesday that the victim has been identified as Kelsey Louise Felker, 24, of Kitchener.
Police made the grisly discovery after citizens found what they suspected were human remains.
Police wouldn't say Sunday whether a weapon was found at the scene, confirming only that the body was wearing a black, short sleeved T-shirt with the words "Forget Princess I want to be a Vampire" on the front.
Police received information from the public about the black T-shirt Felker was wearing and said it was "an important factor" in determining her identity.
The investigation continues.

Yeah I wondered where I had put that torso.

Like seriously... Kitchener? A dismembered body? And just wondering here... where's the rest of it? And who, whoooooo, finds body parts in a dumpster.. like.......you were looking for lunchables?

Should always put your name on things like that.

I find this whole 'Canadian murderers hacking up bodies' trend more than a little disturbing. 8O

Me too...it has to be one of the most repulsive things...I mean I can see murder okay...if we all go to our blackest piece I can think of a time or two where looking back on it...I could have done it if reason hadn't prevailed.

But then to cut the body up...what? That is a level that I can not even begin to comprehend. I am thinking this must have been in the downtown area... There are some pretty seedy places around there. By day people stroll around...as soon as it gets dark...you'd best move your a$$ out. Unless you know the street people, then you'd be okay or at least better off.

She was oh so young.

See in the US you can just shoot someone. Here because guns are illegal one must resort to prehistoric methods of offing someone you don't care for.

Yes it didn't take them long. The biggest surprise for me was that the one arrested lives in the building. Not to mention a friend of mine lives in that building and I know exactly where the dumpster is situated because I parked near it 3 weeks ago. And it is near but not in the downtown area nor is it located in a seedy area.8O

Sneaky news reporting, the original article that I posted had a closing line about the victim being a long time drug addict. I'm sure I remember reading that. It's not there now, seems they may have spoken out of turn.

Real evil can happen anywhere. Comforting thought, no?

For me the saddest part (other than that someone butchered her) is that the parents asked that they use a picture of her when she was just 15. She was a lovely looking fresh young girl with her whole life in front of her.

Who knows what happened to her to fuel her addiction but that doesn't just "happen" in a vacuum. I am thinking recent pictures would have shown how ravished the drugs and her lifestyle had made her.

So this is just so horrendous on so many levels.

As for evil I don't even know anymore what I think of the concept. Truly I struggle with that.

Hm, I just saw your top comment now, sorry... yes I read a report that included comments by the lawyer that she frequently used. It was a tough life she lived. Very sad.

Addictions can happen to anyone, anywhere. But there is a definite stigma and stereotype associated with it. I can absolutely understand why the parents would want that picture, because despite how the drug abuse (alleged, I've only seen the one report and it's now been altered) would have affected her, she is still their child. I think it's incredibly sad that anyone has to hide the person who was murdered in such a way, if indeed that is what they are doing. It shouldn't matter if the victim is a member of high society or homeless, no one should ever have to die and be so horribly mutilated in that way. No one.

But society for the most part seems to care just a little bit less depending on who the victim is. Just look at what Picton got away with for so long.

So this is just so horrendous on so many levels.

I think you recognize the evil that exists everywhere, inside of all of us and you drag it kicking and screaming out into the harsh light of day. But evil is, at minimum, unpleasant so no one likes to do that. It's left in the dark corners of society and the human psyche and that's where it flourishes.

Absolutely. They want her memory to be a pleasant one. People should not remember some ravaged human being because that is not all she was. She wasn't just a victim she was someone's baby, daughter, sister, friend.

The police acted quickly. They get to know certain people that appear before them or that cross their paths repeatedly. Sometimes feelings develop that are not always negative.

We had one street guy always around for years and years. When he died his funeral was bigger than many well known upper strata people because he had touched many, many lives and he was well known within the community. Everyone knew Martin with the brightest blue eyes I have ever seen.

Here is a link from our local paper with a bit more info if you are interested.

Hm I am not certain if "evil" lurks in all of us actually. It certainly doesn't exist in the light as you say. I actually believe that people are on different levels or plains and the more highly evolved do not have that type of blackness in them. Some people, contain more light, and it is a process....let's put it that way. :)
