All the cockamamie worryworts will have un-wrung their hands and forgotten about this in due course.

Just like the ol' Bev ( "not" ) Oda crisis.

Go back to what you were doing now.

It's the nature of the politics, unfortunately. That's why it's up to the people to keep hammering on things that matter to them. Fiscal conservatives forget they're own principles when it is their party of choice making the gaffe.

Of course it's working perfectly.

Raising awareness always does.

Raising awareness of a minor issue, so that people don't worry about anything important. Works like a charm, it's worked on you. That's why sports and entertainment are part of our newscasts.

Ooh, look, a squirrel!

Any time spent on this is time not spent on something else.

The degree to which this story has distracted the public from "real news" still hasn't been proven. In fact you still haven't even proven that this is not legitimate news either.

It was on Global yesterday evening.

Global is only one news source. And even within that one news source, we are smart enough to keep abreast with multiple issues that are of concern.

Either way, relentless criticism of this piece as a distraction is simply propagating the "distraction" to begin with.
