With that in mind, Premier Dalton McGuinty on Monday launched a new “parliamentary liaison group” to allow the governing Liberals to work more closely with the opposition Progressive Conservatives and New Democrats.
In a letter to Tory Leader Tim Hudak and NDP Leader Andrea Horwath, McGuinty urged his political rivals to come together for the greater good of Ontario in the province’s first minority government in decades.
“I have created a parliamentary liaison group within the government to work with your parties to ensure the Legislature is working for Ontarians,” the premier, who is on vacation this week, said in a two-page missive.
