Big news for the Big Mac.
For the first time in the burger’s 50-year history, McDonald’s says it’s testing a new flavour made with Sriracha sauce, according to Business Insider.
McDonald’s spokesperson Becca Hary told Business Insider this was a "milestone for McDonald's” that’ll test the product at 126 restaurants in Columbus, Ohio.
While adding the Sriracha sauce is the first time that McDonald's has changed the flavour of the Big Mac, the company has already started making tweaks to the burger, launching a smaller, "Mac Jr" and a larger "Grand Mac" nationwide for a limited time early next year.
The original version consists of two patties, three-pieces of bread, special Mac sauce, cheese, lettuce, pickles, and onions.
McDonald's will start offering the Sriracha Big Mac nationwide if the taste tests go well, the company told Business Insider.
