Counter-terror police are investigating after two police officers were injured while arresting a man with a knife outside Buckingham Palace.

Officers saw a "large bladed weapon" in the man's car when it stopped near the palace on Friday evening.

As they arrested him, both men suffered minor arm injuries, police said.

The 26-year-old man was also treated for minor injuries. He was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and assault, and under the Terrorism Act.

No members of the Royal Family were in Buckingham Palace at the time.

A Palace spokesman said summer opening hours and tours will go ahead on Saturday, adding that it will be "business as usual".

The incident happened outside the Mall roundabout near Spur Road - which runs along the corner of the Palace grounds - at about 20:35 BST, police said.

The man had stopped his car in a "restricted area" and police saw the weapon.

Det Supt Guy Collings said the "quick and brave" actions of the officers meant the man was detained very quickly, and that no members of the public had any contact with him.

The two officers and the suspect have been discharged from hospital. The suspect was taken to a central London police station for questioning.

Enquiries into the full circumstances are ongoing, police added, and there was still a police cordon at the scene.

The incident happened at the roundabout in front of Buckingham Palace

Eye-witness Kiana Williamson said: "We turned up and there was one police van and one car; there was also a civilian's car that had veered towards the police car.

"They were trying to get the man out of the car, shouting; more police were arriving on to the scene and the man was fighting back.

"I saw one injured policeman with an injury to his arm, although it didn't look severe.

"He was being tended to by another officer.

"The man had been restrained and looked almost unconscious by the side of the road."

The scene on Friday night

Another passer-by, who did not want to be named, said her partner initially thought he had seen a sword.

She told the Press Association: "The police didn't just run up to the car. There was some shouting prior to this. I couldn't tell you what. I was a bit panicked...

"My partner saw a sword, which I didn't see, as well as a policeman with blood on him, looking like his hand or chest was injured.

"The police officer had it in his hand, walking away with it."

Story has been updated to include the usual allahindasnackbar shouting the media usually tries to hide.

Massive jihadi fail.
Drives up to police, doesnt hit them..fail
Goes for sword.. fail
Tries to cut up cops.. fail
3 unarmed cops take him down... just more fail.

I hope this guy didn't go to Syria, he would have been laughed out all the way back to Turkey.

I'm just waiting for the usual Muslim have-a-go-hero story that the media usually gives us after another Islamist incident.

2nd man arrested in attempted terror attack on Buckingham Palace: Police

London police arrested a second man Sunday in connection with a suspect who drove up to a police van not far from Buckingham Palace then reached for a 4-foot (1.2-metre) sword, an incident detectives called a terrorism attempt.
Scotland Yard said three officers were slightly injured when they confronted the 26-year-old man who allegedly drove at the police van then stopped in a restricted area outside the gates of Queen Elizabeth II’s London residence Friday night.
The driver reached for the sword in his car and repeatedly shouted “Allahu akbar!” (“God is great” in Arabic) during the incident, police said. The officers used tear gas to incapacitate the man and arrested him at the scene.
No one other than the man and the officers were injured. Two of the officers were treated for minor cuts in the hospital, while the third did not require hospital treatment.
Police said a second suspect, a 30-year-old man, was detained Sunday in west London on suspicion of involvement in terrorism. Officers were searching an address in the area as part of the probe.
Police had said Saturday they believed the first suspect was acting alone and were not looking for potential accomplices. The force has obtained a warrant to detain him until Sept. 1.
“This is a timely reminder that the threat from terrorism in the U.K. remains severe,” Metropolitan Police counterterrorism chief Dean Haydon said. “While we cannot speculate on what the man was intending to do — this will be determined during the course of the investigation — it is only right that we investigate this as a terrorist incident at this time.”
Palace officials declined to comment. British media reported that no members of the royal family were in Buckingham Palace, one of London’s top attractions, at the time. The queen typically spends the month of August at her Balmoral estate in Scotland.

How can terrorists do such a thing: attacking people with a knife!? while they are besieged and almost annihilated?

Think it carefully .. imagine yourself besieged and in a very serious deadly condition: how can you manage such claimed attacks in remote parts of the world, when you cannot manage saving yourself?

Therefore, it is merely a game or a play .. worked by the Wicked Zionists of Tel Aviv .. that's it in conclusion.
