The idea of birthright has no place in a civilized, progressive, intelligent and 21st century nation.
Yep, the idea of birthright is anachronistic. And so is forcing women to wear a friggin' tent in public, and yet many of the same so-called "civilized, progressive, intelligent" citizens of 21st century Canada who have a problem with the monarchy have no problem defending that little bit of misogyny.

You are so right, changes need to be made.

Deport the SOB back to where ever he came from. I'm sure we don't need him very badly,

Prove what? That the monarchy and parliament are not very useful? hahaha
It would depend upon the definition of "useful". If you mean sucking up taxpayer money while contributing very little to public interest, then yes, they are useful for that.
The monarchy by itself costs about $50,000,000 per year and for what, spending on travels and ceremonies. The monarchy is one hell of an expensive figurehead and a soother for people who like the sentimental claptrap.
And parliament? It seems to spend most of its time catering to corporate concerns. The rest of the time is mostly spent on squabbling, scandals, stabbing the provinces in the backs, and generally being a leeching nuisance to Canadians.

read and educate yourself as to what that that 50 million gets you.

Myths about the Monarchy | The Monarchist League of Canada

The u.s. presidency costs u.s. taxpayers 1.4 billion per year.

The Presidency Costs Taxpayers A Lot, But That’s Not Obama’s Fault

The U.S. also has 2 houses the same as Canada. Congress and the Senate which are comparable to our House of Commons and our Senate.

Abolishing the Monarchy would not really save Canadian taxpayers anything. Depending on the study, it is either a wash ( after the initial cost of making the change), or changing would cost us a whole lot more than we pay now.

and changes were made. I see you have to go back a looooooooooong time to come up with that pic. Shows how far back into the dark ages you are.

Vatican II addressed the Nun's habit, and that was back in the 60's. Grow up.

Who cares what it will save us if anything. The idea of birthright is ridiculous in the 21st-century.

I was addressing Anna's complaint on cost. The majority complaint against the Monarchy is cost. Do try and keep up with the discussion.

That was one that had more than 1 person in it, so does this one and the 'date' is more recent. Looks the same to me.

I see you ignored the reference to Vatican II..... It's a bitch when your proven wrong, isn't it.

I don't give a shyte and what youre addressing. If you support the monarchy, you're an idiot. It's really that simple

It's painfully obvious in all your replies that you don't give a shyte about what anyone says. You just babble on incoherently. It seems to be your schtick.

It says 'many' which is different than 'all'. The 2nd pic shows that the dress code is still used in some situations in 2013. How many Priests and Nuns ended up in jail, I'm thinking it was 'zero'.

'The changes didn't stop when Mass ended. As time went by, many nuns shucked their voluminous habits in favor of clothes similar to those worn by the people they served. And men and women in religious orders started taking on causes, even risking arrest, when they spoke out in favor of civil rights and workers' rights and against the war in Vietnam.'

Look into monitor and swing real hard. The old style work better and you get feed back on how hard the hit was, feel free to use both hands for at least 10 hard blows from each hand. Their face will look the same as your hands, if you break the glass keep swinging as they also feel the extra pain.

Chanting 'God dammit' might help
Psilocybins again? Glue fumes?

Vatican II Changed The Catholic Church -- And The World

That's right, Vatican II allowed them to put aside their Habits for more conventional clothing. Many took advantage of this and still do, although there are many that prefer the Habit. As for the "jail" comment, you don't think, so obviously your conclusion is wrong.

Canada would wither up and croak if it were not for the pomp and ceremony of the leeching and lumbering dinosaur called royalty. uhuh

Who said anything about the USA? I can think of better democratic republics than that one.

The Queen is the head of state. You are in essence swearing allegiance to Canada by taking the oath. If you don't want to do that, don't let the door hit you on the way out. Israel will take you back, you disrespectful low-life.

At the Remembrance Day service on the 11th, I sat down when they started singing Gawd Save The Twit. I've got no place else to go
