Not really. The 9.0 will still happen. When it does the island will move north by 3m and rise up 1m.

Island arcs never stop moving or growing.

170 km west of Pt. Mcneil is about 120 km out in the Pacific Ocean. We didn't even feel it.

Port Alice is the most NW seismic station on the Island. The quake was deep in the trench.

Eastern media. Pt McNeil was probably the first thing to pop up on google earth when they were looking for a location.
