Liberals Gleefully Take Scalp Of Wolfowitz

LIBERALS GLEEFULLY TAKE SCALP OF WOLFOWITZ

The liberal intelligentzia and its motley of thoughtless followers in their primitive taste and state, finally have the scalp of Wolfowitz as another trophy of their war against the neocon members of Bush's cabinet. Indeed, filled to the brim with their cave instincts, "recrimination and vengeful acts will be pursued", to quote Steven Clemons of the Washington Note, against them with glee.

In a farcical repetition of the French revolution when raised eyebrows were considered to be a capital offence by the citoyens of the revolution, likewise the highbrows of the Bush administration will be put in the tumbrils by the citoyens of liberalism, to be taken to their ceremonial execution.

Indeed, it's proud to be a liberal.

I would be interested to learn what you think might be a suitable response to a man who gets his girlfriend a hundred thousand dollar raise at taxpayer's expense. If he's been thrown out on his ear, justice has been served IMO.

Didn't you know? Republicans are supposed to be able to get away with anything. After all, being a Republican means never having to say you're sorry.

I didn't know that ethics was only a liberal thing, but if you think it's okay to give a big raise (of the monetary kind) to your girlfriend at someone else's expense, then I'd rather be called a liberal.

Most hard line republicans that I know would kick your ass a mile down the street if you pulled this crap in one of their companies.

In Canada.we had Art Eggleton doing the same. I was quite happy to se him get thrown out of the liberal party.Of course, then he was rewarded with a senate seat.Hmmm, maybe it wasn't quite the same. Are our politicos really that corrupt?

There's something in the water on Parliament Hill. A politician only has to be there a few years and they want a raise and a full pension. It's worse in the senate. Our senators have been known to simply move to Mexico and have their pay sent to them.

I don't care for Wolfowitz. I think he is one major @$$. He was one of the chief architects of the Iraq war, PNAC and America's disasterous pre-emptive foreign polices.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Wolfowitz

That said, I think the man has been railroaded in this case...

So he had an intimate relationship with a coworker. That happens sometimes. She couldn't continue working at the world bank. That would be a conflict of interest.

But the point which few people are aware is that working for international institutions like the world bank come with generous tax benefits. Even though her salary may have appeared to have increased, after taxes it might have been the same. In otherwords, she was probably transferred to a new job which resulted in about the same level of compensation which would have been fair.

This opinion article describes how it works:

Wolfowitz deserves to be held accountable for his past misdeeds, dangerous foreign policies and possibly even war crimes. But in this case, I think the man is for the most part innocent, or at least not as guilty as the press portrays.
