I feel sorry for the guy... looks like he had to take the fall or revenge for Dick Cheney.

You know what the sad part is? Only like 30% of the American public even knows what the heck this is all about.

I just learnt from a brief summary on The O'Reilly Factor tonight.

The inside sources, said the jury felt sorry for the man, and felt compelled by the legalities to find him guilty.

Another thing that nailed him was him remaining silent.. yes you have a right to remain silent, but to most human beings that rubs off in as bad way.

Another interesting point, this had nothing to do with the Valerie Plane thing, this was about lieing to the grand jury and other counts.

As the old saying goes "the cover up overshadows the crime". If he didn't cover himself up he wouldn't have had this ruling.

I am not defending his actions, but its known that the jury felt sorry for the man, due to their thought he was the fall guy for Dick Cheney.

The American people continue to be amazed by the level of corruption and lawlessness practiced by their politicians....it's no excuse that only thirty percent "knew" anything about this incident.

American history and in particular the history of American politicians lying and misleading their people is long and storied and still the American people embrace the myth of their government...

The most powerful nation on earth ruled by men of absolutely no integrity and only a passing familiarity with morality and ethics....

From the Whitehouse to state legislatures, American politics reflects their embrace and enchantment with "progress" and "prosperity" regardless of the lies and corruption that purcolate beneath the veneer of respectability....

How anyone could believe anything this administration claims is a leap of faith..... a leap made into blindness by a society kept purposefully ignorant and willingly apathetic.

America has corrupt people.

But not all politicians are corrupt. I personally believe George W. Bush, although he has failed, is a good, faithful man, who is not corrupted.

Certain people do politics for their nation, other do it for power, it happens in Canada to you know.

look what we got from the Liberals after, a rein of Chretien, Sponsership Scandal.

Well you could compare the lies and misdirection of the American government to Idi Amin or any other totalitarian regime as well...

That doesn't excuse the people for not taking action against a corrupt government.

George Bush is in many respects a victim to many other people and their poor judgment in the actions undertaken by the United States government over the past eight years. While I'd entertain the notion that President Bush is an imbecile and his lack of sophistication excuses direct responsibility for much, when a nation permits itself to enter into a war based on lies and does nothing....that is a condition of the country as a whole and Americans must either accept responsibility for the death and destruction stemming from those lies and exaggerations, or accept the fact that they are as culpable as the administration that has brought such great shame upon the United States of America.

That Canada in the person of Stephen Harper expresses the same enthusiasm for blindly following the American administration into Afghanistan is an insult and a source of great shame for Canadians as well.

So long as Canadians embrace the American credo of...."make a buck" regardless of the consequences to thousands of people all over the world, Canadians are just as guilty as Americans for turning a blind eye to malfeseance and ineptitude. It's one thing to have a corrupt government like the Liberals and Paul Martin/Chretien government....it's another thing entirely to prosecute a war in Afghansitan on the basis of lies and exaggeration promulgated by the likes of the Bush administration.

These are dark times indeed for all Canadians and all Americans.

I am PROUD Canada is in Afghanistan.

Afghanistan is a noble mission. Iraq wasn't.

Your way off base pal, ALOT of people in this nation stand behind our troops and support our efforts in Afghanistan.

And FYI, the Liberals initially sent us to Afghanistan, Harper is continuing the mission.

If your going to blame someone, blame the ones who sent our troops their in the first place.
