Another thing I found odd is how the author talked about a growing divide between the single and the people who have kids. I had thought that Britten offered more programs to assist parents then Canada.

It's funny that they would see Toronto as an escape from bad immigration policies when all Canadians do is bitch about what immigration has done to the city.

this is one thing i've noted again and again since I got here:

Canadians don't know how good they've got it! they really don't.

I think that crime is virtually non existent in Canada compared to other places in the world. I live in Calgary which has per capita the third highest crime right in Canada (higher then Toronto) and I feel very safe walking the streets.

If you accuse people of racism or try to dismiss it as a political ideology, you are sabotaging any attempt at rational discussion.
If someone is clearly biased in their views they are not presenting a rational discussion but an argument from hatred which is what the author of this article is doing . That deserves mentioning , If he wanted to have a rational discussion he should have left all his baggage and bigotry at home .

Canadians don't need to be patronized on how good they've got it. They just want a good thing to remain. And they want to be part of the discussion that will determine the future safety and livability of their cities. It's called responsible citizenship.

Amazing what you intuit in my writing - I guess I do not write clearly enough for you.

My point about the 7/7 London bombings as an example were the terrorists (or whatever polite name they are given in the U.K.) were residents of the U.K. - having been either born or living there for some time - but because of their living conditions and the desire to become adult or whatever is the motivation for bombing innocents The newly arrived Muslim terrorists (or whatever polite name they are also given) managed to recruit them into their dirty work.

It can happen to people who are naturalized members of a nation - or citizens by birth - that any group of people if their needs are not being met for whatever they see as their rightful heritage - will follow the Pied Piper with any cause - even terrorism (or whatever polite name is given in the U.K. for bombing innocent people).

There have been American citizens who join up to the siren song of BinLaden - to come and destroy all that is good - so they may carry the message and go forth taking over the lands of those who are their enemies. These same lands which have welcomed them and invited them and their families to enjoy whatever prosperity is available by their hard work and learning and desire to contribute.

What they don't seem to be able to digest is their leaders are generally multi-billionaires - so their goals aren't the same as their recruits - their goals are power - the taking of the nations who do not pray to their Allah.

What gift did your average terrorist give you today?

I think that article is hilairous bolonky.

Talking about Toronto's great innercity "state" schools, who are free of violence, knives, drugs and guns :\

Talking about how awesome our country is, then how terrible Britain is for having NHS (hint, we love our own universal health care)
