Maybe she believes in it, but that's pure supposition. All we can really say from what she's announced is that she probably holds pretty deep prejudices against foreign nationals.

These conservative hatebots never realize the price of their policies. She's going to make sure all immigrants get interviewed? Might be a good idea. Also gonna have to hire hundreds of more people to do it. Those are well-paying government union jobs. They'll need support staff and overhead too. Xenophobia is big government and conservatives pretend to be against big government.

It's entrenched in the Constitution Act 1982 both in the old part and the newer Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Most Canadians worship that Charter as sacrosanct. I don't worship it myself, and it certainly doesn't belong to my values, but I think it's fair to say it's a Canadian value when it's defended in the highest secular law of the land.

Definitely should quiz immigrants about this at the border. That and the intercolonial railroad. If they don't think there should be railroad connecting the 4 founding provinces slam the door.
