lol....I always think I know everything...and then, an hour later, I found out I didn't...:)

The beauty of life is in the learning. Trials are good for bringing out the good in us. To say that life is hell, can only be said with the wrong attitude.
Life is worth every bit of living considering that we have an opportunity to help some one else love life who's life is.....hell.
Therefore, giving is a form of forgiveness, that shows no discrimination. Love of neighbor being the motivator.
If love is not the motivator, what, who and how then could we teach? Can't teach someone who is already against you, or has set up walls up against you for discrimination.

``Could you handle 7 wives, provide for them``

The biblical citation reveals that each wife comes with her own dowry. This is why Jewish wives come with dowries to this day. Therefore, there is no need to provide for them as they are already provided for.

While I really like kids, I wouldn't have any today (I'm too old) and that part of your query need not be answered.

Still, the idea of polygyny is biblical, contrary to Christian teaching.

``Trials are good for bringing out the good in us.``

Having grown up in Brooklyn, NY, I knew several Jewish survivors of the Holocaust. not one would agree with your cheery assessment.

BTW, today is Brooklyn Day!!

My heartfelt congratulations to everyone from my old home town!:smile:

``Is there not a greater demonstration of love than that?``

Yes, there is: the greatest sacrifice a father can make is to sacrifice himself for his children. And this is something God will not do and it is his greatest failing by far.

I didn't see any reference to kids in the previous posts, but now you make me curious :p
How young are you at heart and biologically? ;)

This is what I responded to:

```Could you handle 7 wives, provide for them and keep the children from fighting against each other.```
I'm 55 but feel old - it's been a bad life and my health has never been particularly good. But maybe what I need is those 7 wives who come to me with generous dowries!:p
Just imagine gopher what you would give up in this world if you had a taste of heaven.
I'm 60, married 39 years, raised 6 kids and had a pretty good life, but you know, I've done my job, time and am looking forward to graduation day.
I've given good Godly instructions to my kids and so now it's up to them to carry it on.
Well, no need to be greedy :p one good loving wife is probably enough, but dowry isn't what you're going to get in gopher state ay? :p
There is one ethnic group in Sumatra Island who gives dowry to the future husband of the family's daughter cause they want the man to carry the woman's family name. Maybe you should move there? :lol:
Tropical weather may be good for ya. You'll have a natural tan too! ;)
I've mentioned before that while I'm Catholic (remember - with a small 'c'), my ancestry is Sephardic Jewish. Therefore, my ancestral heritage calls for a good dowry when getting married. Seven wives? Well, maybe not now. But if I were 30 years younger, well, ahem, I am descended of Solomon and he had many wives, so, well, ahem ...
I had a friend who was Hungarian. She told me that in her culture, girls are said to mature to womanhood at age 17.
I don't even think that is realistic. There are some people who are very mature at a young age...and those who don't seem to mature until an older age. The number is so arbitrary. I have mentioned this before, but my great grandmother was married and started having her first of 20 children when she was thirteen! Now, in this day and age, I don't believe we give teens enough credit for being able to make decision for themselves.
You people are kidding right? I think many say they are virgins when in fact they are not.
This is the problem with religion in modern times, people of all faiths clinging to some social and faith based beliefs that are no longer relevant in a modern society. The youth of today are no different than those who went before, there are very few virgins at the alter
