we invaded Afghanistan, took down the Taliban, and left without capturing Usama Bin Laden
Left? Really?
Director of the CIA, Porter Goss, has mentioned that he knows exactly where Bin Laden is located but that he cannot capture him for fear of offending sovereign nations.
I believe what he said was that he had an "excellent idea" where Bin Laden is. A far cry from saying he knows exactly where he is.
Al Qaeda's recruitment took a nose-dive after the 9/11 attacks, but has now skyrocketed

Karl Rove is a moron and he should be beside "W", Cheney,Rumsfeld and the rest of administration in the Hague awaiting their war crimes trial.
The part reguarding old Binny Laden is laughable:
They do not want him caught alive, ecpecially by a non American force like Canada, Britain etc due too him maybe spilling the beans (before America got its paws on him) and saying a few things "W" has not told the public, as his family has close ties with the bushies. Plus he would "die" before trial anyways.
Its just like Saddam will die of "natural causes" or "commit suicide" before his trial. He too has too much dirt on Bush and bush sr and even Reagan. (even though Reagan is dead it would still embaress America).

that would make a bizarre kind of sense in the "new" ameriKa. Gotta wonder: has the US always been this devious or has it turned this new ugly leaf since bushlet took office. (get the feeling I (personally) have been mighty naive about amerika for too long)
would bet anything "they " wish they had killed SH "in action" as opposed to finding him alive. Dead men tell no tales....( so it is naively believed)

Saddam's capture was politically expedient...on that fateful day, people were distracted just long enough for the government to sneak in the Patriot II Act...
