Back in the olden days when I was flying Sabres for the RCAF, I'm pretty sure we would first start making contrails at around thirty thousand feet. It always seemed that the contrails lasted longer at higher altitudes. We rarely poisoned anyone.....;-)

Wow. . .flying Sabres. Juan, that just had to be cool.

It was. The F-86 was a nice aircraft, but like any jet fighter of that time, it would kill you if you gave it half a chance.
