Sorry, I wasn't aware that every one of them baby redskins was cuddled and cared for by a loving Canadian family. Or that they all came from families that couldn't take care of them.
Whether every single redskin baby was cuddled and cared for by a loving Canadian family or whether some of them were not isn't the point - all of them from good homes and bad are part of the settlement. Those from the good homes owe at the very least an ounce of gratitude towards those who took them in and provided them with decent lives. And you know what, some of them actually have spoken out and were grateful for the care they found in their foster home - but they were soon silenced as are all who refuse to tow the activist line. I had to look long and hard to find the stories of the some of the survivors but I finally tracked down documents from the survivor hearings. I also tracked down articles on the hearings and interviews with some of the survivors. Without fail, the good stories were dismissed or played down by other natives.
It is this type of blatant duplicity and denial of any good that might have been done - whether its the TRC, MMWI, the Adoptees or the Residential School system - that I find aggravating. I find myself asking why would they do that? What is there to gain by not telling all the stories - good and bad.
Why would they? Being a taxpayer, I am very aware of where this latest payment along with all previous ones is coming from. You do realize, I hope, the money ain't coming from the foster/adoptive parents.
