Been there, 35yrs ago, coming out’a the oil field (Ring & Fontas fields so about where AB/BC/NWT meet…& flying out’a Fort St John I believe…with all kinds of brass fittings and rings and nuts and bolts, and such not just in my pockets, but all through the lining of my coat…. Eventually, when I had that little basket half full of metal, they just told me to go because the plane was waiting…. So filled my pockets again & ran across the tarmac to climb the ladder to the plane.

I was swabbed in Edmonton which set off the scanner for explosives. I didnt make my flight.

I was about 20 and pulling out brass fittings like a magician pulls a hanky out of his pocket… never ending. Eventually, the guy just told me to put everything back in my pockets and run to the plane.
