Just to mix things up, let's post a broken campaign promise from Obama. The promise was to end no-bid government contracts worth more $25,000.

PolitiFact | End no-bid contracts above $25,000 - Obama promise No. 30:

The promise was apparently completely unrealistic since in some cases government contracts are urgently needed, and the bidding process is too long. The Heritage Foundation official from the link gives the example of soldiers in Iraq who need sleeping bags ASAP. It would only make sense to get that done without going through the bidding process.

The same logic applies to political promises to end spending earmarks. Sometimes earmarks make sense when there's an emergency. Example: Louisiana Congressmen using earmarks to get funds to their state in response to Hurricane Katrina.

Obama is a politician, so of course he is going to break campaign promises, that is what politicians are born for, to break promises. It is also a given that he will disappoint his supporters, every president does that.

The question is how many promises does he break, and how many he keeps. If he keeps a majority of them, people will forgive him for not keeping the rest.

As to earmarks, Obama doesn't have the authority to get rid of them, that is the job of the Congress. Obama can speak out agaisnt them, and he has done so on several occasions.

he is turning America into a socialist nation, he goes overseas and calls Americans "Arrogant".
The US is $12 Trillion in debt, and yet he blows millions everyday, flying AF1 to give commencement speeches and DNC fundraisers all over the US. He is a smug, arrogant, petty little man who never ran anything, has no experience in anything other than "community organizer". And you have to be pretty suprised at someone who spends $300 million dollars to get a job that pays $200,000 a year...And dont get me started on Michelle....

Dude, the United States already is a partly socialist nation, and has been long before Obama was even born. We are a mixed economy with a public and a private sector.

Also, the President of the United States gets funds allocated for travel. It's not an arbitrary decision on the president's part to spend money travelling places.

Well, I suppose he doesn't come up to the stellar, genius performance of Bush, but then who can?

Obama is definitely NOT the worst President ever.

That honour belongs to Jimmy Carter, along with the Worst Ex-President.

However, Obama is the most unprepared, immature, childish and petulant President to date.

You do know Obama signed the law expanded SCHIP to millions of poor children, right? Cause I see what you say about him, and then I see what he has done, and they don't match up at all.

Are you saying Obama is a better president than Carter? Shame on you, you will be voted out of the Republican club. I thought according to you Obama is a Nazi, Communist, Muslim terrorist etc. (when i put up the list of all the epithets Republicans call Obama, you came back with the comment that they are all true). Then how can Obama possibly not be the worst president? Who can be a worse president that a Muslim terrorist?

Or are you saying that Carter was worse than a Muslim terrorist (worse than Osama Ben Laden, Mohammed Atta etc.)?

Reagan started the proud conservative tradition of borrow and spend. He was the first one to have a party, to enjoy life on borrowed money, on credit card. Most conservatives since Reagan have been following in that august tradition (borrow like there is no tomorrow, spend like a drunken sailor).

Once again I would exremely reluctant to quote the garbage in post #550, but I make the sacrifice to respond to it.

For those mentally challenged, one can not judge the success or failure of a President until at least one term is completed.

So, wheter Obama is os not the worst President, ever, is still to be determined and can not be said with any kind of certainty until November, 2012.

However, his totally un-Presidential, childish and ridiculous preoccupation with FOWNews proves that, indeed he is the most unprepared, childish and undeserving President ever to occupy the Oval Office.

I knew that, but I didn't think you knew that. Most Republicans have already declared him to be the worst president ever (forgetting that they hate Carter and Clinton at least as much, if not more).

Speaking of people being preoccupied with Fox News...

Excuse me but Reagan is the best president hands down since Harry Truman. Get yourself educated.

Truman and Reagan were both really bad. That's the thing with US Presidents: horrible leaders get drilled into people as being good. Some of the men on US currency don't even deserve to be there.

I hate the Presidency. It brings out the worst in the individuals that occupy it. Trying to name a good President is kind of like trying to remember which Caesar was the good Caesar.

I had a pretty decent Ceasar at Red Lobster, but the very best Ceasar I ever had was at Hy's at the corner of Portage and Main.

Reagan embraced the industrial miltray complex and a nation built on debt.

Old droolin Ron meant well but his failures have been exposed years later.

The last great president was DDE....hands down.

Yep, Ike was good- decent man for sure. With Ronnie there was always an aura of optimism.
