Or have is it because I have just noticed it now?
I'm running windows 7 explorer 10, and yesterday I noticed a funny little design like an eye to the right of the password box everywhere you need a password....forum, bank, etc....
So I decided to click on it instead of Login........try it.....see if it works for you.......

Hi! If you want to get rid of the password eye / password reveal icon in Windows 7 just use the following instructions:
In the "Search programs and files" box of the start menu enter "gpedit.msc" (to edit the group policies)... there you open the following tree path: "Local Computer Policy => Computer Configuration => Administrative Templates => Windows Components => Internet Explorer => Security Featers"... when you click on "Security Features" directory in the tree on the left you will see the entry "Do not display the reveal password button"... open this entry by double clicking it. In the now appearing dialog you'll have to choose the radio box "Enabled" in the left upper corner and click on the "OK" button. If you start your Internet explorer now the password eye / password reveal icon will be gone.

I kind of like it...to double check my bank account before I click.....It's not 5 bad tries like the forum then if you wait long enough you get to try again.
3 tries at my bank and you get permanently locked out, and you have to call the bank and someone that knows you personally or go to the bank in person to have it reset...

I upgraded to Win 8 Pro and frequently get drive errors- to be repaired. Frustrating.

no its not new in windows7,probably this function was not enabled on ur system!
