I like the New York Times, but I only buy the Sunday Edition. It has alot more than just politics.

Plus they just recently built this awesome building on the West Side of Manhattan. :D

Weather the Invasion was Needed or not, The Iraqi People were given a chance to take control of thier country, Instead they decided it would be more benifical, to Kill eachother and Forgien Troops.

People can not Entirely blame the current mess on the Americans, because Iraq was given the chance to do well and unite. Iraq has failed at that, they saw it as a good way to reopen the massacures they use to invoke on eachother in the 14th to 16th Centurys, Kills Sunnis, and Sunnis kill Sheits...

Now their is Chaos, Do people Honestly think the Iraqi People can fix this themselves with out American Help? Its sad, America had went in for WMD, and to give the Iraqis a free Government, they have failed at both, but the free government, had to be wanted by Iraqis as well, apperantly that didnt work so well.

The invasion of Iraq was the world's biggest military co-ck-up in a hundred and fifty years at least. All the public bragging about "shock and awe" bombing before it happened and apparently expecting Iraqis to throw flowers in their path after killing tens of thousands of civilians by that bombing. Remember, this was supposed to be a "liberation". We now know that Iraq was made up of three or more different factions that hate each other, and Saddam was the only man who could control them.

Au contraire. America can be blamed entirely, along with the allies who followed them in there. You can't just topple a regime and expect that the people will pick up the pieces. Democracy has been a long hard fight, you can't expect to just impose it on people who have never had it, especially when the country is polarized by religious ethnicities who have hated each other for so long.

Hey, great minds think alike.;)

Everyone thought Saddam was a bastard, and he was, but it appears that he was walking a tightrope by killing a few of each faction every so often to keep the rest in line.

It seems so hopeless, Iraq is in the middle of a civil war and I see no light at the end of the tunnel. How can anyone hope to join these two tribes because there is so much hatred raging between the two. I hold my hands in the air in frustration because I see no solution at all. Am I wrong?

It's funny ..we never learn.... When Tito died in Yugoslavia the same thing happened. You have groups of people who hate each other kept in line by a dictator. If he is gone they are free to get back to the feud..

If you are born into a culture that violence is the only way to get your way or solve anything..well ..thats all you know. Killing the leader doesn't change anything....

Even if the U.S. and Britain leave..they will still go at it..and they will only stop when a new tirant Dictator is installed.

Whats happening in Iraq is helpfull.

So long as Satan and his poodle are stuck there they cant attack latin America or korea. The Iraqi insurgents are without knowing it saving the lives of 100,000s of of other--nonwhite- nonenglish -speaking -people-who-the-americans-and-Limeys-think-of-as somewhat-subhuman-to-be-used-as-cheap-labour-and-or-have-their-natural-resources-pillaged-and-then expect-to-be-gratefull-for-having-been-raped.

ha-ha-ha-hee-hee-heee....

Anyway...the situation IS pitiful, when you consider that these tribes basically hate, hate , hate each other, have lived generations deep in hatred and killing... however the Americans and UK and aour Canadian troops are well along the road and it is full of obstacles and bumps. It isn't instant, it takes time, and lots of humantarian aid, which is pouring into these seriously poor regions thankfully due to the troops being involved.
Today l saw a beautiful face of a child, he was so pleased with his new oversized t-shirt, but it really made an impact because this is what the long, hard drawn out effort is all about.
The terrorists of this area have to be stopped, just as Hitler was stopped. Peace has to be restored and it will happen, it just isn't instant.
As for Krazzzy Kim in North Korea, another terrorist, who has already subjected his neighbour, South Korea to radiation. This is a country of corruption and torture and concentration camps that starve and beat and work people to death. The main export and import is money laundering, yes funny money, and lots of it.
If you forget to dust the God of North Korea aka Krazy Kim, then you get picked up, along with your children, your childrens-children, and then their children's children, Yep, three generations...just so you don't pass on your poor housekeeping skills...
Oh and where are you a-travelling...well after you are beaten, tortured and starved, you get to go to one of four levels of concentration camps where you are basically beaten, starved and worked to death...
How do we know? Afew have escaped..
