Who? The Saudis?
Pipelines in that neighbourhood in general. So many militias and proxies and non-state actors not worried about the bigger picture nationally or globally, etc…

While Trump signalled he could wind down the war within weeks even without a deal, he also scaled up threats to pull the United States out of the NATO defence alliance if European states did not help stop Iran blocking the Strait of Hormuz.

The remarks on the war underscored Washington's shifting and at times contradictory statements about a conflict that has killed thousands, spread across the region and caused unprecedented energy disruption.

"We'll be leaving (the Iran conflict) very soon," Trump told reporters, saying that could be "within two weeks, maybe two weeks, maybe three."

"Iran doesn't have to make a deal, no," he said, when asked if successful diplomacy was a prerequisite for the U.S. to end what it calls "Operation Epic Fury".
The United States had previously threatened to intensify operations if Tehran did not accept a 15-point U.S. ceasefire framework demanding that Iran not pursue nuclear weapons or uranium enrichment and fully reopens the Strait of Hormuz.

The White House said Trump would address the nation "to provide an important update on Iran" at 9 p.m. EDT on Wednesday (0100 GMT on Thursday).

What do you mean? Israel isn't legit? Why would Arabs trust Netanyahu?

Losing...

Even if Iran opens the Strait, will the hundreds of ships with no insurance suddenly get insurance? As it stands there's a fuck tonneau of ships destined to "Iran friendly" nations who can transit but are uninsured.

Yay the circus clown show.

For second time in less than a year, Netanyahu says Iran is no longer an existential threat

An Iranian missile attack wounded fourteen people in the ultra-Orthodox city of Bnei Brak in central Israel, including an 11-year-old girl who was critically injured by glass shards and a 36-year-old woman in moderate condition, medics said, after a series of barrages targeted the area on Wednesday morning as well as later in the day.

■ After telling reporters at the White House that the war in Iran could end "within two weeks, maybe three," and ahead of what the White House called an "important" speech on the state of the war on Wednesday evening, U.S. President Trump claimed on Truth Social that "Iran's New Regime President" asked for a cease-fire. According to Trump, Washington will consider a truce once the Strait of Hormuz is "open, free and clear." Iran's Foreign Ministry called Trump's comments false, according to Iranian state media.

■ In an interview with Reuters, Trump said that he does "not care about" the enriched uranium Iran still possesses, as it is "so far underground." Trump added that he "didn't need regime change" in Iran, "but we got it because of the casualties of war," and that "the big thing we have is they're not going to have a nuclear weapon. Nor do they want one."

■ A day after his interview with the pro-Trump outlet Newsmax, PM Netanyahu said on Tuesday evening that Iran "still has the ability to threaten us, but they can no longer threaten our existence" as a result of Israeli and U.S. strikes. The comments were made in a recorded statement that did not include taking questions from reporters.

■ In late June 2025, after the first Iran war, Netanyahu said at a press conference that Israel "had removed two immediate existential threats" and declared a "historic victory that will stand for generations." In his recorded statement Tuesday, Netanyahu also called on "studio pundits and opposition spokespeople" to "adopt the morale of our side, not that of the enemy" and to "connect with the spirit of the people, the spirit of heroism, the spirit of victory of our mighty fighters."

■ Israel will halt all defense purchases from France after it prevented Israeli aircraft carrying U.S. military equipment from flying over its airspace earlier Tuesday, an Israeli source told Haaretz, adding that France also obstructed the passage of planes transporting weapons to Israel several times amid the war in Gaza. The French Embassy in Israel did not respond to Haaretz's request for comment.

"There are more than enough former senior members of the IDF's high command, including former chiefs of staff, who recognize that the war with Iran was poorly planned, and that continuing it will merely erode Israel's deterrence because it isn't likely to achieve any goal that would constitute any kind of victory. These generals must raise their voices loudly, clearly and immediately" – Dmitry Shumsky

Seems nobody knows what happening inside Trumps head. “That’s so far underground, I don’t care about that,” he said in a Reuters interview, referring to Iran’s stockpile of uranium, which was largely buried after the June 2025 strikes. His comment was sharply at odds with his argument that a main goal of the war was to prevent Iran from being able to produce an atomic bomb.

Is Trump pulling a global April Fools Day with his war in its fifth week, as there was no clear signal from the president about what conditions are necessary to wrap up the military campaign in Iran. He wrote on Truth Social early Wednesday that he would not consider a cease-fire until the Strait of Hormuz was open, a day after he said that the U.S. military campaign would be over “very soon” and that Iran’s closure of the strait was for other countries to resolve.

This Trump Speech/declaration/whatever tonight is almost guaranteed to be an absolute conflicting shitshow.

Iran has asked the United States for a ceasefire, President Donald Trump said in ‌a Truth Social post on Wednesday, adding Washington would consider this once the Strait of Hormuz was open.

Iran's foreign ministry spokesperson said Trump's statement about a ceasefire request was false and baseless.

"Iran's New Regime President, much less Radicalized and far more intelligent than his predecessors, has just asked the United States of America for a CEASEFIRE!," said Trump, who did not specify who he had spoken to

Masoud Pezeshkian is the President of Iran, having been in office since July 30, 2024, following a special election.
The White House said Trump would address the nation "to provide an important update on Iran" at 9 p.m. EDT on Wednesday (0100 GMT on Thursday).

Iran has a new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, who last month succeeded his father after his death in an air strike. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian took office in July 2024.

Trump said Washington would consider the ceasefire request "when Hormuz Strait is open, free, and clear. Until then, we are blasting Iran into oblivion".
Based on reports from April 1, 2026, President Donald Trump scheduled a prime-time address to the nation for 9 p.m. ET (EDT) on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, to provide an update on the ongoing war in Iran.

The war game simulations were accurate. US can't win against Iran.
