I'm a torrent junkie and Ipod freak.

But when the net was new there was this very strange online radio station out of California that was incredible.
I forget what it was called or it's address or if it still exists.
It was a dj's paradise if you were into jungle and trance and that sort of thing.
Not my preference at all , but hey!! new things need to be known.

They had a chat room and I did not know anything they were talking about it.
I realized I was no longer cool and hip to anything anymore :(
I tried deciphering the chat but it was well beyond my hippie upbringing. LOL!!

The dj's were mostly ex MTV people, which I did not know until I got XMRadio and now Sirius in cars.

Neither of which I paid into after the initial free periods. Why wait for my favorite music when I feel like it.
Almost 35 gigs travels with me.

There was this German online radio station I came by accident and it played a lot of great Blues and Jazz.

I would listen to that in the background before I got an iPod.

Do you remember name of the German Blues and Jazz station?

Nothing like trying to stay current to realize just how unhip you are eh?

There's a lot of new music I like but then every once in awhile something comes along and I'm like WTF? How can this be popular, make money, what's wrong with today's kids? Then I comprehend just how far I've come and how old I am (comparatively speaking)

Sadly no, it was way back in '99 and it was all new.

I really thought when I was kid that we were so cool no one could top us.
I recall me old man saying"You people think you invented sex and love "

Every now and then something comes up I like enough to download it.

I have four songs that are new on my iPod,lol.

One song by Rhiannon ,"whats my name " two versions one with drake talking about weed and good wine.

Empire state of mind by Jay Z with Alicia Keys.

Coolio "gangstas paradise" and a James blunt song I actually paid for with itunes...lol..."Your beautiful".

That's me the hipster all tuned in to the new music.

LOL!

oh yeah almost forgot, not enough to actually download or search it but that song by 50 Cent about being a pimp and not giving anyone a dollah.
I recall I liked that when accidentally I saw the video, ouch.

that be it ....

my favorite is socountry.ca out of Penticton great country station
I will soon have my own up and running going to take a little time
to resolve some issues. It will feature agricultural issues some
poetry written by listeners and a poetry group called road scribes of America
a group I am a member of In addition we'll feature artists trying to get
recognized and country music some block programming of old rock and more.
and there will be features on service organizations and so on
oh and we'll talk about authors and the books they write we have a few
published guys on this site to feature as well.
I have some equipment but not all of it and access to some programmings and
working on others. A little busy farming and being president of the BC Fruit Growers
on the Canadian Horticulture Council and BC Ag council but we' will do it
hope to start before the end of the year with a little help from my friends old ex

Listen to Free Blues Music Online - Live365 Internet Radio

Man this brings me back, I forgot about this. I was really into it for ever so long.

Blues is my thing by the by. I have a lot of stuff I listen too, but when it comes down to it Blues is my roots.

Take Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix , Cream, Blind Faith, I think why I can still listen to them for they have a blues based root to their music.

Delta Blues, Howling Wolf, awe man Paul Butterfield, John Lee Hooker, need I say more.

There is nothing better than a full stomach, a beer on the table ,and a live Blues Band .
I don't care how raw or new they are, they will do it for me live.

Cool.

It is amazing how rich and diverse the genre really is.
It was my older brother who influenced me with the blues. He really wanted me to have a deeper appreciation for music than just the music of the day on the hit parades.

The Rolling Stones older stuff is amazing. Rhythm and Blues masters. Brian Jones loathed the direction that the Stones were taking.
I think they pretty much held onto their Blues Based Roots to this day.

Yesterday I thought of my brother while I played Carny by Leon Russel.

here's one dedicated to me older brother.
