The liberal government which includes, of course, a cabinet full of virtue-signalling half-wits under-qualified and lacking in any common sense, has again proven that they have absolutely no clue when it comes to actually conducting business in a timely, budgeted and competent manner.

Nothing.......not one plan of theirs has come close to being on budget, let alone on time. Millions and millions of dollars have been utterly wasted in futile attempts to correct their mistakes and every day the the toll on taxpayers continues to rise because they still can't get it right.

They failed at electoral reform. They have failed at fixing the Phoenix pay system. They are failing at administering the CRA. They are failing at running the MMIWI. They failed to put the proper support systems in place to ensure the influx of refugees were given the tools they need to integrate successfully into society. They are failing to deal in a timely matter with all the people illegally crossing our borders. They failed at rolling out the infrastructure money in a timely manner holding up hundreds of projects across Canada.

In spite of all these MASSIVE failures, they gave themselves high marks last week in their self-serving and completely erroneous report card.

In Thunder Bay the main killer of natives are other natives.

No matter how much money and privileges the white man gives the natives in the end things will only change once the natives do more to help themselves.

There I said it I'm a racist now

Hold up there Johnnny slow down. Once you start down that dark path, for ever will it control you’re destiny. Are you sure you want to start acting the way nature intended.

This is the most screwed up inquiry in the history of inquiries. I think everyone involved has quit twice over.

And there is no sign they can fix it to get it on some kind of go-forward plan.

To keep the Indians from complaining, they are giving the Indians a forum to allow them to talk about their disappeared relative. But this is not meeting any inquiry objectives.

Total waste of money.
Anytime your involved with the Indians, it will only cost you money and you will get no results

I wonder if selfie boy realizes this now??

It will not result in any missing relatives being found, what it will do is result in a permanent record being available and that combined with all the other ones is how new tips are found and nobody will look closer than the relatives.
Rather than the members of the inquiry being incompetent it is more likely even a half competent person would be able to identify what happens to most if the missing.
Perhaps what is missing is anybody willing to tank their career by prosecuting the top names that popup in investigation after investigation. Hillary would be in jail before that happens.

The bolded part is where you are wrong. Put the allowances on a debit card of everybody entitled to a monthly check and see what a difference a year makes when their new accountants are H&R Block. The Indians need to hire the same PR firms that used to handle the affairs of the ones being forced to quit to avoid criminal prosecution. They seem to have been pretty good at pushing forward various agendas, imagine what they could do with a legal one that is coast to coast and all the way to Panama. Lobby for a new reading on some existing rights and a new enterprise that is in the black ink part of accounting is born. Just the mail-order business alone to off-reserve addresses alone would bring a decent income to the off-rez delivery companies. Having on-site stores might be better with each isle being a new residential address and orders can be processed in a few hours 24/7 for pickup at the entrance. They might be the reason Canada ends up as part of a thriving economy that is suited to the 21st century rather than the crap we are living in.

Two different issues but the theme is the same, out of sight, out of mind. Perhaps it is time for the Indians to circle their wagons as the ones that make people disappear will need to find a new supply and that is where disasters and wars happen so there is no safe steady supply.

What did they expect really? This is nothing more than optics.

An inquiry should be an unbiased panel that investigates an issue without any type of personal agenda.

The subject is Missing and Murdered Women. Then that's what they should be focused on, in a static setting, not Yellowknife, not Whitehorse, not Thunder Bay.

The whole thing is a goddamned fiasco aimed at appeasing natives, while running it like a goddamned Bryan Adams farewell tour.

All this healing bullshit.

Here's an idea, and I know it's a reach, but how about conducting the inquiry like a goddamned inquiry.

This issue has been investigated multiple times already, it seems that the current effort is more akin to someone shopping for a result rather than accepting the former findings.

But then again, what did we really expect considering that the gubmint initiated the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.. Sounds remarkably 1984esque.

Goals of the Inquiry as taken from the website:

  1. Finding the truth
  2. Honouring the truth
  3. Giving life to the truth as a path to healing
As we examine the systemic causes of all forms of violence against Indigenous women, girls and members of the LGBTQ2S community in Canada, we are putting the families first. Our values are honesty, openness, inclusivity, compassion, courage, fairness and respect. We are seeking the truth about missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and LGBTQ2S people while—most importantly—holding our women, girls and LGBTQ2S people sacred. It is our goal to provide those sharing their stories with a culturally safe space that they can access with support surrounding them. Our work is connected to the land and rooted in traditions that have kept Indigenous communities strong for thousands of years.

What a bunch of self-serving bullshit and how typical of this liberal government. No wonder the inquiry is going nowhere.

Beats heck out of really hard stuff like investigating, solving, and prosecuting crimes, which as we know is a white male straight Christian patriarchy thing to do.

Be interesting to see the solve rate, the prosecution rate, and the conviction rate.

Y'know, to get the whole picture rather than your favorite sound bite.
