You wanna tell me where in Europe that is ?
Because it looks a lot like computer generated hee haw.

I know it's hard for a Throwback Neanderthal to understand that the world is moving forward, no matter how much you post on CC how it's a waste of money..

Most people look at long term value and savings.. not short term and short sighted views.

Nope... Nice oil refinery, eh?

+600,000 bpd, each and every day for the new 40 years at least

Yes very pretty...

Given that the world consumes about 86 million barrels of crude oil per day, it would be easy to conclude we'll run out of oil in 55 years, or sooner if we increase production consumption with population growth.

So what's next?

55 years, and if we don't start inventing and making renewable cost effective now, what are your children and your grand children going to do?

We need to also focus on recycling plastics too.

Just 55 years... that's it. A blink in the history of man.

Two options.

1. Slow transition from suburdanization to urbanization and ruralization.

2. continue on the present trajectory until we suddenly run out and then suburbanites (and urbanites in cities surrounded by suburbs) will suffer when they face the cost of transportation of food into the cities.

Take our pick.

trudOWE doesn't need it to be law before he gives our money away.

SOC how much productive farmland has been permanently lost to install all those bird cookers?

My experience with solar for the last 17 years is that it is a huge waste of money. About the best we could ever do is charge the electric scooter with the aid of expensive batteries and have a few lights when the power is off and don't feel like firing up the generator for an hour. You would never run a cook stove, baseboard heaters or a small welder.

.. And it doesn't cook birds in mid flight.

Yep, the world's largest oil refinery sure is purdy

hehhe.... Jimmy Carter had his panties all in a bunch too about running out of oil and lookee where we are today?

Hell, I believe that your buddy Suzuki was all in a tizzy about the coming ice-age way back then too..... All based on sciencey-type calculations of course.

... That said, your prediction of 55 years holds about as much validity as an ice free north pole since 2013

We won't have any plastics in 55 years I guess

Um, first of all, lots of stuff we have today was science fiction not that long ago. Secondly, so these panels only absorb energy, they don't project or reflect it onto anything else? You know, kind'a like this?

You reall1y have to learn the difference between a solar panel and a mirror. Because those are mirrors in the picture you posted.

And yet the price of oil remains low. Can it be due to the fact that green tech is lowering demand? I wonder what is going to happened when internal combustion engines begin to be phased out? Nice picture of the refinery BTW. Would you like me to post a few of the thousands of new solar and wind installations?

Oil prices remain low because ewe are awash in oil.
Got any pics of bird friers that work as advertized?

What? Now you are telling me that deserts are full of birds that head for solar energy installations. Just as an aside I wonder how many birds are poisoned by installations like this one?
