British Columbia and Yukon should be it's own country.

If Quebec separates it would make Canada stronger.

The people with the real power in Canada are the Supreme Court Judges: they are not elected and can strike down any law; and they are there till death, that's real power.

Throughout history nations have been the strongest when the people had a God fearing king, with whom they loved.

I dare a reply.

I gotta get this stuff off my chest! Every time I discuss politics in other social situations it seems to me that only a very few agree with how I even think. All these thoughts are part of one philosophy. That only a few seem to understand. So with all respect pick a topic and go with it! Cuz I love the debate. A few times... minds have been changed.

The Supreme Court is an excellent system. The way it is now there is no incentive for judges to do anything but judge. What would be their motivation to do anything but act in good faith, and what would you suggest as a better system?

Kreskin,

Their pride is their motivation! Their ego's! "I'm a supreme court judge, I'm better than the guy at wal-mart." That's there attitude. In our society their opinion DOES count, and yours does not.

Better system?

How bout a King? A God fearing, wise, king. With whom the people adore. Truly golden times.
Could it happen? No, not without a revolution. ;-)

Do you know any kings that don't have egos? What exactly would your king do?

It's the 'god fearing' part I have a problem with.

Some kings. But then, at some point they fall weak and give into temptation. King Saul, first king of Israel comes to mind. But up to that point... utopia...prosperity....

My king would be the supreme court. His word = final law. I only hope he is God fearing. For if he is, that King will know not to oppress, for in his mind, God will strike him down.

If he's God-fearing is he one of those religious types?

Religion has nothing to do with it. Catholic? mormon? lutheran? all just interpertations of the same thing. What's key for the king: He believes that an all knowing, all powerful, infinite, singular God is in control of his life, his reign. He is actually doing God's will for the nation.
(or at least in his mind, he might be crazy, and we have to kill the king! lol)

God told me he doesn't want this king.
