When it comes to jobs (link is external), we live in very precarious times, with fewer and fewer people securing full-time work with benefits. Paradoxically, union membership continues to decline, while right-wing propaganda about the evils of such associations flourishes (link is external). As a society, we seem to have lost the will to fight for something better.

So what has happened? Episode one of The Life And Death Of Worker Resistance offers some insights:

What propaganda? The unions killed Detroit. All by their lonesomes. Bad management decisions, designing lousy cars nobody wanted, and moving moving manufacturing out of the country had NOTHING to do with it.

It's all the fault of the greedy, corrupt unions!
