Rafael Nadal wins 12th French Open title with victory over Dominic Thiem to stay undefeated in Roland Garros finals
The win on Sunday in Paris gave Nadal 18 Grand Slam titles, pushing him closer to Roger Federer's 20, the men's record. In his latest triumph on clay, the 33-year-old Spaniard beat Thiem, a 25-year-old from Austria, who was seeking his first Grand Slam title.
Nadal and Thiem also met in the 2018 French Open final, which Nadal won in straight sets.
