Most of us know one of the Suzukis. Let's call him Saint Suzuki. That's the Suzuki whose TV show on the CBC constantly lectures us about our lifestyle. He says we need to consume less, buy less and use less fossil fuels.
But then there's another Suzuki. Let's call him Secret Suzuki, because he's far less well-known.
Secret Suzuki is the one who lives on Vancouver's elite Point Grey Road, on a double lot, overlooking English Bay, right above the exclusive Kitsilano Yacht Club. The City of Vancouver assesses the land value alone at over $8 million. And that's just one of Secret Suzuki's properties.
He has another million-dollar home in Vancouver. And then there's another home on Quadra Island. That's three homes right there, if you count the double lot on Point Grey Road as just one property.
But then there's his large property holdings on Nelson Island. What's so fascinating about that one is that he co-owns the property with an oil company, Kootenay Oil Distributors Ltd. They don't plan to drill for oil together. It's a beautiful tourist spot -- maybe perfect for a nice big condo development.
Of course, there's nothing wrong with co-owning any property along with an oil company. But isn't Saint Suzuki against fossil fuel companies -- especially oil companies?
Saint Suzuki tells us that the world is desperately overcrowded, that we're overpopulated, and that we're going to run out of things.
But in his own life, Secret Suzuki has five children.
There's nothing wrong with having five children. It's a blessing. But then why does he think other people should have fewer kids?
Saint Suzuki rails against corporations and profits. He even gave a well-received anti-capitalist speech at the Occupy Vancouver protest.
But Secret Suzuki himself has several corporations. One of them, the David Suzuki Foundation, took in a whopping $9 million last year and has $12 million in assets. More than 10 million of that is invested in stocks and bonds.
(Recently, our senators-those privileged members of the most exclusive club on the planet-have become concerned with the amount of money flooding into Canada from foreign shores-money which is being shoveled into assorted politically ACTIVE Foundations and which does NOT have to be publicly acknowledged or accounted for! Worse, there are very few regulations regarding how or where this money may be spent at election time.)
(I have said in the past that foreigners-with Yankees being in prominent positions-but Chinese becoming even MORE aggressive-are seeking to influence our elections and govt-for THEIR profit and OUR cost! The Suzuki Foundation takes money from all sources and does not care that these sources may be HOSTILE to the life style of ordinary Cdns! Just so long as their cheques are good!)
Saint Suzuki despises lobbyists, and says they have a disproportionate control of political power in Ottawa. But Secret Suzuki himself has nine paid lobbyists registered in Ottawa's lobbyist registry. Not one. Nine.
Saint Suzuki despises politicians, and says they can't be trusted. Secret Suzuki starred in a Liberal party TV ad along with former Ontario premier Dalton McGuinty.
Saint Suzuki says corporations have to be less obsessed by profits, and do more for the public good. They need to especially think of the interests of the next generation, our children.
But Secret Suzuki has made a tidy profit off young people. His standard speaking fee at universities in Canada is $30,000 plus expenses. He billed Quebec's John Abbott College a cool $41,000 to visit them.
Saint Suzuki speaks in the language of tolerance and equality and liberalism -- utterly politically correct.
But Secret Suzuki engages in conduct that should cause feminists to raise an eyebrow. When he visited John Abbott College, his assistant called with special requests to go along with his speaking fee. Here is an internal e-mail from the college's Mary Milburn: "We have learned, via Dr. Suzuki's assistant, that although the Dr. does not like to have bodyguards per se, he does not mind having a couple of ladies (females) that would act as body guards." The college's Jim Anderson got involved in selecting the coeds, too: "Please be certain that the women are nicely dressed, we don't want them in evening gowns, but definitely NOT Police Tech uniforms." All of this bizarre selection of girls, dressed just so, was the result of Secret Suzuki's special request. If he were a conservative, he'd be called a dirty old man. But he's a saint. So the college went along with it.
David Suzuki is not a criminal. But he is not a saint. He's a real man -- a capitalist millionaire, a politician, a man with a staff of lobbyists, a prolific father, a wealthy landlord. If only he'd stop scolding the rest of us for aspiring to do the same.
(Suzuki works hand in glove with our LIE-beral govt for the mutual benefit of BOTH! If Suzuki were less of a hypocrite he would campaign to derail the govt gravy train that is bankrupting us! Between 75-85 percent of all pollution related to transportation-that`s planes, trains, buses, cars, ships, trucks-anything that moves and carries either cargo or passengers-is `transport` and PLANES produce the MAJOR part of that pollution!)
(IN the aftermath of the 9/11 terror attack during which time 25 percent of the worlds airline fleets were grounded, there was a MEASURABLE IMPROVEMENT in air quality around the planet. Why then does Suzuki not campaign for SHUTTING DOWN the govt gravy train that is fueling air travel? We know the more money you have, the bigger is your carbon footprint; with civil service working family Hogs earning at least one third more than the rest of us-and that`s without counting their obscene pensions which are so rich that ordinary people are not allowed by law to have such a payout!)
(Cut back on Hog gravy and they will live like the rest of us-buy smaller cars, drive less often. Fly less frequently and not so far away, buy smaller-easier to heat homes! AND by killing the grotesquely greedy gravy train with its insane pension demands we can save our economy as well!)
(A while back I mentioned being on Severn River in my canoe and spotting teens surfing behind a BIG motorboat-a massive machine with engines of many hundreds of horsepower-smoking and burning up and down river while the environment burned and the kids cavorted. But I did not seen them last year-is it possible they have they been SHAMED into quitting their environment ripping activity? One can hope! Or did the kids go off to university and summer jobs?)
(And what of that new favorite Muskoka toy-the bubble system? The proud owner of recreational property does not want ice to form around and damage that costly cedar dock-loaded with costly gas guzzling environment destroying toys that might fall in the water and be lost-so the wise owner places air tubes on the lake bottom around the dock and attaches them to an electrically powered air compressor-and leaves it running ALL WINTER! They do this in spite of those bullshit LIE-beral commercials-PAID FOR with OUR MONEY- imploring us to conserve electricity!)

Principal accused of literacy test tampering sign of larger problem: Experts

A former high school principal is facing charges of professional misconduct after being accused of tampering with Ontario’s literacy test.
The Ontario College of Teachers said it conducted an investigation and found that some students were called back to the school to complete parts of the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test in March 2016 after it was supposed to be concluded.
Christine Vellinga, who was then a principal with the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, is accused of reviewing test booklets to find incomplete tests, and telling certain staff members to do the same.
(And why would the tests be incomplete? Because the kids do not read well enough to finish in the allotted time period! This is NOT a new problem! In his book Freakonomics, economist Stephen Levitt details his experiences from 1996 as he struggled to sort out cheats from honest teachers in a first real test of academic standards in the Chicago school system. Levitt devised methods of identifying teachers who had falsified test results- with the result that in the first year of testing over 25 percent of all the kids had to re-do the tests- to produce HONEST results and 25 percent of teachers were strongly cautioned about their behaviour and another 5 percent were outright FIRED for cheating on class academic standards!)
A notice of a disciplinary committee hearing from the college alleges Vellinga called 21 students back to school to complete portions of the test they had missed, directing them to specific parts of the booklet — and asked the acting vice-principal to do the same.
The college didn’t name the school Vellinga worked at, but noted that she has since been demoted to a vice-principal and was suspended without pay for 20 days.
Vellinga is also accused of not ensuring that students were properly supervised while in possession of the test and allegedly telling one student, “you were never here.”
(“The students were not properly supervised” during the testing process- and this suggests that the kids might have been encouraged to share answers and etc in order to get a higher score?)
(IT is an open secret that the number of Ontari-owe kids designated as having “learning disabilities” that conveniently disqualify them from having to display their unhappy ignorance on an Ontari-owe literacy test is SOARING as educators struggle to hide how bad things are getting!)
She is expected to appear before a disciplinary committee later this month. Her lawyer did not respond to a request for comment.
Also accused in the case are the acting vice-principal, as well as a teacher who allegedly helped determine which students had not completed the tests. Andrew Burke, the acting vice-principal, was suspended by the school board without pay for 10 days, and Gregory Quinn was suspended for five days. Dates for their disciplinary hearings have not been announced.
(The leftist Toronto tabloid Now Magazine printed a number of letters- written about 15 years ago- apparently from Yankee teachers dealing with the US school testing system and explaining how THEY cheated! Yankee tests were done late in the school year and then younger teachers- the ones still low on the pay scale and wanting extra money would be hired to “mark” the tests- and mark they did! Letter writers to the magazine claimed they were not closely supervised while doing the marking and they often changed answers for the kids benefit or simply marked a certain number of answers as correct regardless of the truth!)
Representatives for the school board and lawyers for Burke and Quinn did not respond to requests for comment.
One piece of a ‘data tapestry’
The Education Quality and Accountability Office, which creates and administers the test, conducted an investigation into the alleged tampering, and found that it did in fact happen. As a result, it withheld the school’s results of that year’s tests from its reports.
The EQAO says the results of the tests are used to produce annual school board reports and to track children’s progress throughout their schooling.
Steven Reid, EQAO’s Chief Assessment Officer, said the test results are one piece of a “data tapestry,” woven together with information from different sources to evaluate school performance. He said EQAO data shouldn’t be taken alone as a marker of a school or school board’s success or failure.
But some experts say Vellinga’s case highlights a broader problem with how administrators see the role of EQAO tests.
Administrators ‘feeling pressure to be great’
(Pressure to be GREAT? HAHAHAHA!!!!! Teachers are feeling the pressure to make sure kids actually DO learn something in school! Teachers are feeling the pressure to HIDE how badly some kids are doing because LIE-berals do not wish to admit that a few bad apples can drag an entire class down with their disruptions! Teachers are feeling the pressure to hide just how many kids come to school with attitudes that dictate that learning anything means “selling out to white society”! Teachers are feeling pressure to hide just how many kids don’t get enough to eat in our tax mad and debt crippled economy! Teachers are feeling the pressure to hide the reality that our “child centred learning system” with its focus on building the kids ego rather than ensuring facility with language and math has not been exposed as a fraud! Teachers are feeling the pressure to HIDE the reality that “learning by rote”- meaning dull but effective memory work is the ONLY way to ensure good basic math, grammar and spelling skills!)
“Unfortunately, sometimes, depending on the school board or superintendent or even a principal, they’re feeling pressure to be great in terms of what the results are,” said Charles Pascal, a professor at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto and a former chair of the EQAO.
(Unfortunately- sometimes due to the presence of radical reverse racists groups- bad parenting is blamed on poor teachers with the result that LIE-berals are trying to “dumb down” the curriculum to enure that more kids APPEAR to be succeeding in school! This is one reason why Toronto District School Board is discussing the abolition of “programs for gifted kids” as they do NOT want people making unhappy comparisons about wildly differing academic performance between classes and between schools and between different ethnic groups!)
“Sometimes because of leadership and how the purpose of the testing is conveyed, people and individual teachers feel a pressure that they shouldn’t be feeling.”
Some of the pressure could come from the fact that EQAO results are made public, Pascal suggested.
(If the test results are NOT made public then they are USELESS! The EQAO standardized testing was implemented to protect parents and kids from lazy and unscrupulous teachers more interested in their Hog gravy than in the kids dumped in their care- some teachers view our kids as cash cows to be MILKED!)
He noted that EQAO results are often used by real estate agents in advertising different neighbourhoods, which puts great pressure on schools to perform well.
It is natural, however, that school administrators would want to do well on the tests, said Don Klinger, a professor of education at Queen’s University who has worked as a consultant and on various panels for the EQAO.
“We should be striving to do the best for our teachers and for our students that we work with,” he said. “There’s different ways of tipping the scale in your favour. Some are legitimate — one’s called ’good teaching.”’
(“Good teaching” is more likely to make an appearance if militant unions get shoved out of schools, if burned out teachers get sidelined, if learning by rote is restored to respectable status rather than letting kids fart around with calculators that ensure they do not learn math basics, if LIE-beral immigration policy is tightened up to ensure that people with hopeless language or learning problems are not allowed to come here- at this time I think of convicted 2 time killer Rohan Ranger who came here at age 12 from an English speaking country- yet was illiterate in his native tongue and was STILL illiterate when he dropped out of school at age 16 and began his “career’ as a drug dealer and eventual KILLER!)

Global warming guru Al Gore blew through Toronto recently on a promotional tour for An Inconvenient Sequel, the follow up to his 2006 Academy Award winning film, An Inconvenient Truth.
The sequel is scheduled for general release in August, and Gore had high praise for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau — who briefly appears with Gore in the new film — as a key player in negotiating the 2015 Paris climate treaty. The Nobel Peace Prize winner also took a mild shot at Trudeau, expressing disappointment he supports oil and gas pipelines.
(Better get used to such double standards-it would be far easier to cut back on gravy for Hogs-and save the environment that way than to harass ordinary people trying to heat their homes and etc! Less gravy means less Hogs flying and airplanes are the dirtiest way to travel- Cdn Geographic magazine quoted climate experts claiming it is more environmentally sensitive to drive an SUV from Toronto to Florida than to fly there- but Hogs wont quit as planes are `convenient`- so screw the environment when its `convenient` for Hogs! And screw you too for wanting to drive to work because you are polluting Hog air!)
Never mind that the purpose of those pipelines is to transport Canada’s oil and natural gas resources to market, fossil fuels which supply the energy Gore relies on to keep his never-ending global, jet-setting environmental crusade airborne.
(And never mind that the fossil fuels generate jobs and enable us to have hot water and flush toilets in our homes by fueling the trucks and machinery that enables us to have our modern, sanitary, disease free lives! If we depended on LIE-berals to go out into farm fields and weed our beans and pick our carrots and lettuce we would all starve to death! So many modern conveniences depend utterly on fossil fuel) that ending the use of that fuel as LIE-berals claim they can- will devastate our economy- and our health too!)
This as he travels the world in the lap of luxury urging the rest of us to tighten our belts to save the planet.

Fact is, the world really would be in imminent, existential danger from global warming if everyone consumed as much fossil fuel energy as Gore does.

The failed U.S. presidential candidate completely jumped the shark in 2013 when he sold his struggling liberal cable network, Current TV, to Al Jazeera for $500 million, with a reported payday of up to $100 million for himself.
Al Jazeera is owned by the oil and gas emirate of Qatar, an Arab dictatorship currently denying allegations from surrounding Arab dictatorships that it funds Islamic terrorism.
Gore’s hypocrisy in selling Current TV to Mideast oil and gas interests, given his crusade against fossil fuels, can only be described as breathtaking.
Ontario residents should think of Gore every time they pay their electricity bills, which doubled over the past decade to become the highest in Canada, taking the shine off Premier Kathleen Wynne’s promise to cut them by “25%” starting this summer.
Actually, 17%. The Liberals cut electricity rates by 8% on Jan. 1, 2017, a year after raising them 10% when they cancelled a subsidy program.
Back in the heady days of November, 2009, Gore flew into Toronto to praise then Liberal premier Dalton McGuinty’s passage of Ontario’s Green Energy Act that year, before a sold-out audience of 1,300 at the Allstream Centre in Exhibition Place.
Two Ontario auditors general — first Jim McCarter and now Bonnie Lysyk — have since extensively reported on how the Green Energy Act has been a financial disaster for Ontarians.
(And without cleaning our air either! Yankees can lay claim to any air benefit as they have closed 150 coal fired generating plants- though sillyn LIE-berals are trying to take that credit for themselves as a way to hide their mouldy green energy crap! Our hydro system has become a giant slush fund for LIE-berals and Hogs- environmental concerns take a back seat to Hog gravy needs!)
They documented how the McGuinty government, followed by Premier Kathleen Wynne’s government, wasted billions of public dollars buying expensive and unreliable wind and solar power they didn’t need to replace coal-fired electricity, which was done with nuclear power and natural gas.
(Certainly burning coal the old way with NO pollution scrubbers on ancient equipments as Ontari-owe had been doing was a bad thing- but as noted- LIE-berals REPLACED our coal plant output with nuclear and natural gas generation- THUS NO NEED for mouldy green power- EXCEPT that LIE-berals turned power generation into a GIANT slush fund to BUY votes for their pals!)
The auditors found the Liberals failed to develop proper business plans, economic impact studies, or even do internal auditing, laying the groundwork for every Liberal energy blunder from the cancelled gas plants scandal to the smart meters fiasco.
(The ONLY plan LIE-berals need or want is the one that enables them to BUY all the votes they need to cling to power using their electrical slush funds!)
Undeterred, Gore was back in Toronto four years later in November, 2013, praising Wynne at the province’s MaRS building for announcing Ontario would ban the use of coal-fired electricity in the province forever, thanking her on behalf of the “world” for “doing a fantastic job.”
Now, Ontario is about to re-enter the coal-fired electricity business in Colstrip, Montana, after Wynne sold control of Hydro One to private investors.
(LIE-beral morals are so flexible they can do back flips while standing still. And the purchase of that coal fired plant in Montana is necessary since LIE-berals are seeking to EXPAND their electrical slush fund now that major opposition to electricity rates has dominated Ontari-owe news! LIE-berals have decided it might be easier to get their gravy from operations not in immediate view of Ontari-owe voters and auditors!)
