Oddly, a lot of famous people like Bert Reynolds, James Brown, James Garner, Kim Basinger etc. They made a constitition, so the educated love them. Women rule the roost in a tribal society, hardly. Tribal people never have trouble with famines, they just move on, fight, lose members and continue, no problem. Everyone did the same thing. Ireland also grew one crop, perhaps they could blame the English for that. Fact is, weak, pre-modern, tribal peoples in the world have trouble coping with change.
The stories of 100 million perishing due to Columbus and the Western world are symptomatic of that. They have a grain of truth in them, but facts are hard to pin down.
I'd like to see the answer to Gh's question to this.

Subsidised housing is a good idea, but like anything, too much of it is not. Many well off Canaidans live in social housing because to be managers, run on the board of directors and run committees. Much like running the local hockey or sports association. People devote many hours to these organisations for no pay. I dont quite understand it mysef, but those are the facts. Could be the champagne liberals described in the newspaper.
However, because subsidised co-op housing has been around for a while, many people who do not really need it, live there. I would say a third. One third are transitional immigrants who live there until they can buy a house or condo, others are just renters and don't understand a co-op at all and move out after a few years, and others stay decades.
Overly hgh immigration should end so needless housing of this sort does not get built. Another reason to cut immigration by 75% for a few decades.
