It's hard to think of leaving Canada, but if I had too, I would probably move to Washington State or Northern California.

RE: If you had to leave C

some place in England I guess, it's where my grandmother grew up. I've been wanting to go there for ages.

Either that or my dad has an internet aquantince that lives in Brazil, the town where she lives seems like it would be a nice place to live. Good climate. I'd have to learn a new language, but I already know some Spanish, so Portuguese can't be too hard to learn if you know Spanish. They are very similar languages.

Ahhh my destination would have to be Brisbane Australia as well as other posters have alluded to as well. The city is clean and friendly and the weather [ when I was there ] was always incredibly mild. New Zealand, if you're looking for a change, seemed far to familiar to Vancouver Island, temperature and attitude wise , not that that's a bad thing but when you're looking for change, that would eliminate New Zealand as a choice in my mind. Obviously the grass can often appear greener on the other side because so many Aussies I met were willing to give their eye teeth for an experience anywhere in Canada. We're doing okay !

If you had to leave Canada permanently with your family or in your current situation, where would you go? Be specific, don't just write USA or Europe or etc..

I think if I had to leave Canada I would head for the Brisbane Area of Queensland. I figure it has nice weather all year round, less congested than Sydney or Melbourne. New Zealand would be intriguing, but it is too small. If I had to go there, it would be the South Island.

Other than that, perhaps Barcelona or Marseille. No where in the US interests me that much. I'm off to San Francisco and Hawaii in a month so I may change my mind.

If you are a conservative minded English Speaking individual, a move to the southern U.S. would be a natural choice. The Mid-West, South, Deep-South and Western U.S. are all good choices.

States that I would recommend are Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Mississipi, Tennesse, Louisiana, Georgia, Kentucky, Arizona and South Carolina.

The social climate in those states is ideal for someone who believes in traditional values. Nice place to raise kids.

Oklahoma would interest me, except for the tornados. Arizona in the winter would interest me for sure, but the summers would be way to hot. How about Pacific NW in the summer, Arizona in the winter? Yah, that would be hard to take. Trees, mountains, lakes, etc. in the summer, desert, golf, and warmth in the winter. Ah, just think!!

Your conditional statement should be rephrased to say "If you are a conservative minded caucasisan English Speaking Christian, a move to the ...."

Been down a lot of the states you mentioned, nice place to visit, but to live is another story.

Besides, what's with the obsession with the US? So many of you want to go there.

I would take a small Island and make it a country of its own, then I wouldn't have to deal with the rediculous politicians. If only :-(

Actually, most of the twisters do not occur in populated areas of Oklahoma. Tulsa would be a safe bet. Nice climate all year round (a little humid in the summer, but still alright, no dry heat like Arizona).

It's warmer in South America. Plus, I don't plan to abandon the sweet free trade deal I have in the works! I'm not an evil doer, I'm a free market capitalist!
