That's nice, I am sure, but I don't recall asking a question of you about this. And flowers can be good, isolation can be good, less choice....not so much

For you I have a special question, you love Alberta, but if you were forced to move to another province, which would it be?

Good question, never really gave it much thought. For a quick response, probably BC, the southeast corner, Cranbrook, Fernie, etc., still in the kind of geographical area I like, not sure about politics, but then, BC politics have a way of being kind of strange at the best of times. If it wasn't for the interminable winters, one of the territories would have interested me when I was younger.

In all fairness, though, I have not been to all provinces, so cannot give opinions about Quebec and the Maritimes. Ontario has too much humidity for me, at least where I have been, Manitoba is, well Manitoba (actually, too cold, too many mosquitoes. Did have the Guess Who, though so it can't be all bad), and Sask is way too flat, no geography attraction, at least in the southern half.

How about you, same question?

Would have to be Scotland/England. My entire family is there (well, split between Glasgow & London), so it would be just like coming home, and since I'm a duelly, I could pack up tomorrow (I've GOT to stop teasing myself!!! Been saying that for years!!!). But, there's the hubby to think about....nah!

I would say New Zealand. Its as close to BC as one could get and does have great trout fishing.

Well when you get to New Zealand make sure you shower thoroughly after your flight. Customs officials board all planes and spray disinfectant all over the plane cabin before anyone disembarks.

Well, I've been to 8 or 10 provinces (missing NL and SK) and six have only been for short times. Aside from Quebec and Ontario I haven't been anywhere else for more than a week.

I find an appeal in every province so really this is a hard decision. I don't too hung up on the taxes and the specific of politics in each place, but I would live anywhere in Canada and still feel at home. It really depends on where in the province and more on what I"m doing. If I moved to Calgary (which I was trying to do), life would probably be the same as it is here now, except no lake and bigger hills. Now if I could retire and live a life of leisure, this would be different.

Also, it my family coming with me, or do I have to go back to Toronto to see them, cause then I'd pick Quebec.

I know I"m not answering the question, but here are a few places in each province I'd like to go. Vancouver Island or Okanagan Valley, Calgary/Banff Area, Whitehorse, Manitoba interlakes region, North shore of Superior (opps that is Ontario, but it is Northern Ontario so that is like a different province), Montreal or Gaspe, Saint John River Valley and Nova Scotia (Anywhere). PEI is too small and that bridge is way too expensive! :) I suspect I could find somewhere in NL and SK too.

Sorry I couldn't narrow it down, but Canada is so nice.

You serious? That sounds horrible. I wonder why they do that? Is it left over from mad cow fear, when you had to step on disenfectant mats when you left the plane?

I'm dead serious. They did that to me when I flew to New Zealand in 1998. They board the plane, they spray the crap out of everything and the pilot warned us not to complain because nobody will be permitted to disembark. They do that so you won't bring any type of insects or bacteria that will destroy their Kiwis.

Can you imagine what they spray you with to accomplish this? 8O

I'll reverse the topic. If I had to leave the New York I would pick Nova Scotia 8) . Beautiful scenery, great view of the ocean, great fishing and great people (I plan on retiring there)

Where in NS?

On the outskirts of Digby, at the foot of the Bay of Fundy. 8)

They didn't do that when I went in 2002. But they did offer me wine with my breakfast.........and they lost my luggage. Which was particularily funny because I worked for the company that installed their (Auckland Airport) baggage handling systems...and I was there on business.....

Ireland would possibly be the choice for me. I'm a musician-composer and they say Ireland is a fiscal paradise for people like me... hehehe...

If I had to move within Canada, Nova Scotia would definitely be my pick. Beautiful place, beautiful people.
