dude...he BROUGHT HOME THE CONSTUTITION!!! WE WOULDNT BE A COUNTRY(WITHOUT STRINGS ATTACHED) WITH OUT HIM ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LISTEN punk,Reality 101, something that your brain is not grasping ,I'll try to explain ,I'll make it simple.Constitution does not make a country ,people do.Constitution is a will of the FREE people , FREE people , people who want to make their own country. You cant' bring' a "prepared " constitution home. If you do,, then It's not a constitution ,It's just another document to benefit the gov. on how to control people.
The American "will of the People " was written in " love ,blood and tears",but hat's so " Un Canadian"

Re: RE: If you can change the *faces* on the Canadian Bill..

Let's restore some order and decorum, please.

I would like to note that the late The Right Honourable Pierre Trudeau, P.C., C.C., C.H., Q.C., the Fifteenth Prime Minister of Canada, gave Canada the right to amend its own constitutional law—a prerogative which was new to the Constitution Act, 1982.

Mr. Trudeau also gave Canada our Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which ensured that Canadians everywhere would be equal before the law—something which has been seen to evolve into something that everyone in Canada can be proud of (everyone who thinks that everyone is equal, anyway). There are some who don't think that some people should have rights, and therefore, they oppose the existence of the Charter. It's depressing, really.

We don't elect the government to be GOD, but to coordinate the will of the people.
Canadian Charter of rights and Freedom?........A fredom to be right ?....a right to be free.WUPIdoo, what will they give us next????/
I,m doing business in COMMUNIST CHINA for past few years ,and you know what ??? I have more personal freedom in China (that's why I' m doing business here)then I would have in Canada.
I love my contry ( the people),and I am very happy that we have elected T.H .I hope he'll stay there for a long time.
Ps Trudeau was an educated fudle dudle nutcase or just like Nixon called him.....an ASSHOLE that,s why his picture should be on the toilet paper.

RE: If you can change the

I would actually like to point out to everyone though, if you were listerning...Fiveparadox included (sorry dude), Mr Trudeau didn't have a particularly hard job "wrestling" the constitution off of the uk...

We (the UK) dont actually have one, we EVEN sent the queen to sign it for you, there was no struggle, it was just a simple request on the part of your prime minister....in fact our government probably thought it was a bleedin good idea, and took a bit of weight off our necks!!!.

less to legislate you see.

8) See that avatar just to the left?

That's the face that should be every bill, just to remind the politicos that if they do another "fuddle duddle", "jobs jobs jobs", "free trade except where your'e concerned", "sponsorship scandal", they will get their guts ripped out at high noon in a public square.

Unfortunately, neither the former nor latter will happen.

How about a steaming pile of horseshit on every bill?

Sine, the constitution thing is way overblown. The country worked perfectly fine without it. Now that the baby's home with papa we have endless court cases over charter interpretations (the constitution's weird and ugly twin) and a Supreme Court that now exceeds the supremacy of parliament. The constitution continues to cheat Canadians of proper representation.

Agreed. I'm 52 and despair at the lack of democracy in Canada of 2006.

No politicians, please. Especially not John A. Macdonald. We have a myth in Canada about Confederation as some type of wonderful liberation. It was a sell out and stifled real democracy and independence for another 70 years. confederation was the cumulation of beating back the real democratic movements that started in the rebellions of the 1840's.

No people. The groupie nationalists will want someone like Pierre Burton or Wayne and Shuster. Then the political correctos would have to search the history books for a Muslim black woman.

I think we need a good Candian hero on the bill. Perhaps Isaac Brock, or Sam Steele. Or a matchup! Put Wolf and Montcalm on a bill together.

Or perhaps explorers. David Thompson, Samuel de Champlain, or John Cabot.

RE: If you can change the

Isaac Brock was like my uncle......from St. Peter Port in Guernsey!!!!.....a british channel Island, not exactly Canadian, but they do speak french(well norman) and English.

Wolfe?....English again, De Champlain French and John Cabot was an Italian who's name passes me by...what about Wayne Gretsky, or Bret Hart, or Captain Kirk!!! (that's surely logical? lol)

What about that dude on the Canadian Tire money? The fellow with the Scottish tam. Perhaps the mint could make a swap with Canadian Tire. In return Canadian Tire could use the Queen....perhaps even the Queen in an action shot like changing a tire or puting up a tent. C.T. might go for it as long as they get their fellow back upon the Queen's death and don't have to use the dork with the big ears when he becomes king.
