I haven't meat an NDP'er or Liberal yet who goes around getting drunk and bushing gays and lesbians. :angryfire::angryfire::angryfire:
"(She is) a walking ad for the dumb, blond bimbo comment." Former Liberal MP Pat O'Brien on a female colleague.

"Homosexuality is statistically abnormal, it's physically abnormal and it's morally immoral." Liberal MP Tom Wappel.

Yep your just a patronizing Jerk. You think they are fine it seems, what, as long as they know their place? They acknowledge your smarter and better than them?

So you don't hate gays, just think they should be restricted to doing your hair then? Maybe interior decorating?

They can think for themselves and make their own opinions. They can choose to forgive or be bitter on their own and they don't need you cursing and being obnoxious to protect them. They are just people like everyone else.

look man you have missed completely the point of my argument, I am angry on two politicians, who had the tapes not be found this idiots in their riding want to be respected for the wrong reasons. The Conservatives asked Canadians in the last federal election to give them a chance to govern clean when in fact deep inside on a case of such bigoted discovery Harper feels there is no need to go any further. Had Harper caned Tom the bigot my anger would have been less than what it is today, DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT?:angryfire:

DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT?:angryfire:
This portion of the paper makes clear the reasons for my objections to those who would force society to regard homosexuality as an acceptable lifestyle and why I see this as the inevitable result of recklessly (albeit with the best of intentions) adding "sexual orientation", howsoever defined, as a prohibited ground of discrimination in the Canadian Human Rights Act.
It further outlines my thesis that matters which deal with homosexuality are deeply moral, upon which a free vote must be permitted.
Finally, let me reiterate that my aversion to homosexuality, which is shared by the vast majority of Canadians, does not mean that we hate homosexuals, and certainly not any individual homosexual simply because he or she is a homosexual.
Logically, one can abhor war, without abhorring the individual participants in the war. Similarly, one can abhor homosexuality, without abhorring individual homosexuals.
...
For anyone who professes belief in any religion, this should be a moral issue.
—all major world religions declare homosexuality to be a sin and contrary to the laws of the supreme Deity.
...
It is not a question of "fundamental human rights". It is, however, a question of deeply held moral convictions for the vast majority of Canadians.
...
Most Canadians view homosexuality as abnormal. They are prepared to tolerate legal sexual activity behind closed doors, but they are not prepared to accept homosexuality as normal.
...
FACT: Groups that condone and promote paedophilia associate themselves with homosexual organizations
...
FACT: Homosexuality is a promiscuous lifestyle
...
FACT: Homosexual activity can have adverse medical consequences
There has been much scientific research done on the medical dangers of homosexual behaviour. Some of the diseases caused by or exacerbated by homosexual activity are listed hereafter, with references.
Read the whole discussion paper to get the context for these excerpts and the full flavour of Wappel's moral revulsion towards homosexuality. And ask yourself why Liberals rise up in righteous indignation against the "knuckle-draggers" in the Conservative Party while a long-serving MP from within their own ranks is, according to the CBC, simply taking "outspoken positions against abortion and gay rights".

Tom Lukiwski made an offensive off-the-cuff remark about homosexuals while on a drunken binge at a party nineteen years ago. Tom Wappel has a history of making anti-gay statements right in the House of Commons and cloaks his hatred in quasi-scientific "policy papers" issued by his constituency office in his name, under his authority as a Liberal Member of Parliament. Tell me, whose head should be on a platter?

And to quote you S...

What does that have to do with calling anyone who disagrees with you on his 'punishment' a neocon? You've been labeling (or at the very least implying) anyone who discusses this issue in a manner which is in opposition to yours a con.

In the bush near Sudbury
Lesee.... Sixteen years ago I was in my own business - that bastion of redneckery: the trucking industry. Did I hear and respond in kind to off colour remarks about fags and commies and stuff like that? You bet. Politically correct? What was that? If it offended someone, you either watched an ass in retreat or got a poke in the mouth. Did I feel what I said was wrong? At the time it wasn't. If I said it now would it be wrong? You bet. Attitudes change. The right thing changes from day to day. If someone were to use something I said sixteen years ago to hurt me in today's world ... he'd get the same pop in the chops he would have got sixteen years ago - but that wouldn't be politically correct.

Woof!

I am on recored confirming that the Libs got demoted because they got sloppy at the end, while the Tories seemed to be ready to clean Ottawa, and yet we see same old same old ideology exists with Conservatives. I will never tremble upon your rights as a fellow human being, but when one tells the masses we are better than them and all they are they are no deferent, then we should have the indisputable right to protest as we see fit in a civilized manner. Thanks to the internet we can through stones at the politicians who have angered us knowing that there is no blood shed.

You're on record for having said a lot of crap...

So, seeing as Lukiwski apologised for his one time off the cuff remark and Wappel hasn't, for his continued anti gay stance. Including writing papers to attack it...does this mean we'll see a ton of your rants bemoaning the LPoC now?

I heard a good point raised over lunch today.

"Who has done more to hurt the gay community? The person who made those comments and thought they would go no further than that drunken moment in time? Or the person who chose to broadcast the tape, rather than just throw it in the garbage?"

i think this deserves bumping after Socrates has decided to throw that slur out at the forum. This holds as true to your actions as I think it does to the actions of whoever chose to broadcast that tape.

To be honest with you Bear if Wappel was in my riding or the member of my constituency was ignorant and insensitive like Tom, you can be sure I would protest with my vote and put in a blank vote.

It has nothing to do with what a term is better or worse than. What it has to do with is the way you assume that anyone who disagrees with you on one simple point, is diametrically opposed to you on an entire belief set, thus, an enemy and worthy of abuse and rude remarks.

That's subjective at best.

Bear, call it subjective call it what ever you want, the fact remains that Canadians were told we will clean Ottawa from the slimy Libs and that is not what has been witnessed this far. From Tom to lying grease palm Mulroney tax evaded cash and all the rest.

You do realize that at least half the people disagreeing with you in this thread aren't conservative at all, don't you Socrates?

Look Karrie I am not on any ego trip, and if other fellow Liberals on this thread disagree with me that is their problem for being unfair to the truth. My political points and argument are directed in the height of hypocrisy which sits with the present politicians in Ottawa who claim they are better then the last Government.

Karrie my rude remarks came after I was bulldozed by opinion which made me more angry as we progressed. 17 years ego is not an excuse. If Tom had come clean and told the story him self than I would forgive him my self as well, but seeing that the tapes became public knowledge by some one who was looking for dirt then that makes it difficult to except a phony apology.

Man it is time you make some pragmatic sense here instead of protecting a group that behind closed doors don't give a rats ass about you or your opinion. All they want to do is piss on your vote.:roll::roll::roll::roll:
