If the government knew of the 9/11 attacks what would be different.

Not sure if this was already stated (haven't read through all the posts) but a recent show, maybe the passionate eye, interviewed many who said the US defense wasn't designed to fight an enemy coming from within the US. All air defenses etc point out, not in. Air traffic controllers had difficulty tracking them, so even with early notice much if it may have been futile to stop. I suspect there have been a number of military upgrades since then.

Reminds me of an old karate instructor I once had. He said something like, "even with all this fighting training there is still no defense for someone sneaking up behind you and hitting you over the head with a garbage can."

yes, good points, and I watched that program too, and many others today. Enjoyed listening to stories
told by the 'actual' persons who lived thru the situation, eg. air traffic controllers, wives/husbands,
firefighters,people who were actually trapped in one of the towers and lived thru the nightmare.

Yes, the government had lots of 'chatter' info, and news of warnings of a 'big event', but just what was
going to happen was not known, much has been learned from that day.

It was interesting listening to the stories from the actual ticket sellers who sold airline tickets to
the terrorists, and remember them, and then had difficulty getting on with their lives after the fact,
knowing they could have actually stopped the tragedy. They didn't want to be seen as racially profiling
anyone, just because of what they looked like.

I have cried many times today, but stayed glued to all of the stories, very interesting and informative,
and heart wrenching.

The airline assistant who stayed on the phone with the ground, explaining what was happening, and also
gave the seat numbers of the hyjackers, and was on the phone right up to impact with the first tower.

Perhaps it is the thumbs down that should be done away with rather than have a person like the above come in and click Bad without posting or responding to the questions about why.

I don't really care if the person above neg reps me, but if you remove my posts identifying that he did it really raises the question as to why. Kind of like Ed yuh know.
