Because you take pleasure in the suffering of others?

Yeah, that's what happens in civil wars.

Why do you think everyone would just take that BS from Quebec if they decided to split. I can assure you that there would be war. I'm sure some Liberal sympathizer might give them more to stay or try to bribe them... Not happening.

You are without doubt the most ignorant Canadian I have ever encountered live or on line. You are a disgrace!!. I have been all over Canada and believe most Canadians do not view Quebecers as you do. For Gawd's sake, quit that bloody job if it is so unpleasant for you to drive in Montreal. Oh but maybe this is the best you can do.....right!!

Blah, blah, blah pull your head out of your azz.

Drive through Montreal on HWY 40 downtown, looks like a 3rd world sh:thole.

Why would I quit, I'm making a 6 figure salary putting up with the Queerbecers.

I don't care how much you make but what kind of a person you are. So right there you know how you stack up in my opinion.

What you do not understand, is we do not need to promote tourism. They come!! Quebec politics are never dull and are never uninteresting or boring. That is because of our mixture of people. It is a mixture of many cultures, beginning after the second world war and has continued along the same lines. I grew up amongst, Newfoundlanders, Swedes, blacks from the US, Italians, French along with Scots, Irish and English, all on the same block. Recently it has been the Vietnamese boat people and I am sure Syrian refugees next. Quebec on the whole is more cosmopolitan than Europe is these days. It seems that some parts of Canada, simply incorporate other cultures, where Quebec accept, and grows with and enjoys them.
I think you've confused immigration with tourism. Over the last 20 years or so now, immigrants to Canada who couldn't speak English or had very limited English but were proficient in French, settled in Quebec. Many North Africans speak French. There was a sizable portion of Vietnamese who spoke French because Vietnam was a French colony much like some of the North African countries. Many Western Europeans speak French as well.
But was talking about promoting tourism within Canada instead of promoting divisiveness, which Quebec has essentially done for the last 30 years or so now.
It's a beautiful province but many Canadians don't know it because they simply don't want to go there because of the attitude and atmosphere that's emanated from the province for so long.

I'd rather bribe them to stay than murder them.

Backwater, Ontario.
Kweebeck separates. The injuns say "we're taking our land and separating from Kweebeck". The sliver of land along the St Lawrence is not acceptable to Kweebeckers and, being too proud to backtrack, war would ensue. The only real question is to what extent the Yanks will get involved and how long it would last.

Yanks get involved: won't last long.

Well some people are sheep and ment to be sheared. That's why Mafia exsists, protection rackets forcing people to pay or get beaten up.. the weak are easy to scare like that.. and yes they pay.

If this was actually coherent, I'm sure it would be a horrible thing to say.

Not so, Immigrants don't go home, tourists do. I do know a lot of New Yorkers, New Hampshirites, and Vermonters come regularly to Montreal. It is a very cosmopolitan city and we have many, many visitors. Have had them even stop in to watch an evening milking now and again, on their way home.

Well, our town sponsored several Vietnamse boat families and most of the pharmacists in town are of Vietnamese origin.

As for the attitude of the French speaking people.....a lot has changed here over the years and yes we still have a few Pequisites still hanging around. Understand that between the church and the politicians, who kept resentment over the invasion of the British into what was then called New France alive it has taken a long time before the average Northern Quebecer realized English speaking Canadians did not have horns and a tail.

Now the young French Canadians are coming up, well educated and they want to see more of the world. They are trying very hard to learn English. So, don't tell me I am confused, I know the difference between a New Yorker and a New Canadian.

Well some people are sheep and ment to be sheared. That's why Mafia exsists, protection rackets forcing people to pay or get beaten up.. the weak are easy to scare like that.. and yes they pay.
Yup some Albertans!! That province corrupts people. I had a cousin who moved to Alberta from Montreal because her daughter was asthmatic. Sadly, her oldest daughter was abducted and murdered by a serial killer. She still sends on jokes that are offensive to me as a Quebecer as well as jokes that diminish people from other provinces. The most disturbing part is she does not even realize how insulting some of those jokes and slurs are. Much like certain people in this forum.

You're saying don't poke a sleeping dog. ;)

It may wake up and bite you.

However Quebec's bark seems to be worse than its bite.
I have lived 28 of my 59 years in Quebec and I would say that most of you don't have the foggiest clue what Quebecers think, do or will do. (The corollary is that French Quebecers know absolutely zilch about you, too) The sovereigntists are all grumpy, old guys and it is definitely not hip, anymore.
