Can you expand on that Macho Man?
I was being humorous to a degree, though granted there probably are a few lands with natural resources that do belong to some First Nation or other that we have not handed over yet.
Beyond that though, I have no big issue with 'foreign' ownership of 'Canada's' natural resources. In the end, all resources on crown lands are crown resoruces and we can sell them off at whatever price we think is fair, and those exploiting those resources on Canadian soil are still fully subject to Canadian laws.
Let's consider too that Canadian investors also invest in foreign resources too. You could imagine if we tried to 'naitonalize' oil companies how many Canadians might lose their investments overseas too. Tit-for-tat politics is dangerous. Never, ever forget that what one country can do another country can do also. Canada does not have access to all natural resources, so if we ever clamped down on our resource exports, don't imagine for a moment other countries would not retaliate in kind, meaning that we might then experience shortages of certain resources in Canada too, thus hurting all sides in the process. I think we'd go much further with each country helping each other to succeed than have each country try to knock their neighbour down in pointless economic wars. That's what worsened the Great Depression after all. Let's learn from the past.
