The entire concept of evil is religious in nature.

Religion is not evil. Peoples' interpretation of religion may cause them to behave in ways that are evil, and yes, some religions ARE evil, but the mainstream theologies are, in themselves, anything but.

The entire concept of evil is religious in nature.

Religion is not evil. Peoples' interpretation of religion may cause them to behave in ways that are evil, and yes, some religions ARE evil, but the mainstream theologies are, in themselves, anything but.

Religion is evil. Accept it. It is a theory by which groups attempt to feed upon Mankind's fear of the unknown. The Jews created the Bible to control their own people by instilling into them fear of an Almighty. When one seeks to control others by taking advantage of their fears this is in itself intrinsically evil.

All religions should be squashed forever. Humanity is far too advanced to bother with such ridiculous notions of a Supreme Being and the supernatural. Science is advancing at such a phenomenal rate religion is obsolete. As a result all churches, mosques, synagogues and temples must be burned to the ground and the populace turned away from this ridiculous and idiotic belief in myths.

You enjoy a life in a free, democratic state largely because of Christian philosophy of freedom of choice and the equal value before God of each person, as expressed through the philosopher John Locke and others.

Religios charities and missions do good works the world over.

Of course, religion has led to war, and persecution by the misled or the evil.

But, I submit, a quick glance at the twentieth century, with attempts to build a super-race on the right, and the murders of tens of millions in the name of atheistic communist philosophy on the left should discourage any notion that mankind is a better creature when freed of his spiritual burdens.

Communism is not humanism. Humanism is using reason and compassion as a basis for dealing with others. At least look at what humanism stands for before you condemn it on the words of one forum member. Humanism stands directly opposed to those things which you label as its ills.
