Do away with? No, I don't think so. They are the primary venue of a lot of sports that otherwise people wouldn't have an opportunity to see. The problem is that you can't separate the pound of flesah from the blood. The IOC is the most corrupt sporting body in the world, with the possible exception of FIFA. The term "amateur athlete" has ceased to have any meaning, since most of teh athletes in all but the poorest of countries are provided with the reousrces to focus full-time on their sport prior to the Olympics. Tehre is an entire multi-billion dollar industry focused solely on providing undetectable chemical performance enhancement of athletes. And you can't stop politicians and terrorists from using the Olympic to further their own selfish causes.

I have no easy answers, other than just ignoring all teh BS that goes along with it and enjoying the celebreation of the hman spirit that the Olympics represents.

How about 100% ignoring the Olympics? I personally have a difficult time seeing how they represent anything positive. Saying that the Olympics represent a celebration of the human spirit is kinda like admiring a drug trafficker because his fingernails look clean. IMO anyway.

That might be how your creator thinks but my creators (mom & dad) are both very liberal and taught me to accept people are all different rather than push some fake deity's cookie cutter standards upon them.
