jimmoyer, Hugo is a democratically elected leader. Though in a system which has bitted the left vs the right in an almost evenly matched scene such as the USA with the Republicans and Democrats.

By pushing Hugo around it may inbolden him as well and increase his support base. He is also somewhat the symbol of the new democratic left forces coming into power in latin america. We can see that the american efforts to isolate Hugo has back fired and made him much more power. While at the same time I think you are hinting at something here too that it appears he may be pushing Castro to the side which is a good thing. As the old Communist Revolutions of old may lose there heroic and lasting appeal to those who think the only way to overthrow the right is by revolution these left leaning elections in Latin america has proven to them otherwise. This may help democracy in the long run in Cuba as well. Only time can tell. But you post is extremely enlightend and shows true conservative/libertian values. :D
