I'd say they're both kind of right; one extreme feeds the other. Banning books, for example, will go unnoticed when people are so distracted by being overfed meaningless trivialities.

Just out of curiosity, who is banning books?
Schools and libraries due to wacked public pressure from those that yell the loudest. The Catcher in the Rye, a classic was pulled from one school.
A great novel. I read it at a young age myself.
