Human Power

There are many forms of getting alternative energy like wind, thermal, hydro and solar.

The human body also produces energy and it also produces energy waste, which until now wasn’t really utilized

Paris to Heat Building With Commuters' Body Heat

According to the above article a building owner wants to harvest energy waste from subway commuters by collecting heat from their bodies to heat the building.

The human body is an untapped energy resource that should be looked into like powering small medical diagnostic equipment for monitoring body levels and so on.

Another idea is using groups of people to produce energy like a stadium of people watching a sporting event where there is a lot of cheering I am sure there is a way of converting sound waves into energy that can be collected in a battery for later use.

The possibilities are endless

This topic is nonsense. The human body normally produces just over a hundred watts of energy per hour. Imagine heating a building
with a hundred watt bulb, or a dozen of them. The possibilities are just silly.

Not to mention that in order to move the heat from people, you would end up making them feel cold. People don't like that.

Maybe they plan on tapping into everyones bed. It could be both thermal and motion generation. For some of us anyway.
There is potential for using body heat that could work when thousands of bodies are involved. Remember it wasn't that long ago that solar heat was basically only workable in a lab and now buildings are powered by it.

I had seen one proposal to generate power in an airport by putting in floors that convert the concussion from foot falls, into energy.

The larger story is that we will have to become energy scavengers eventually.

I think you may be onto something, BUT it would have to be a very huge person.

To put this into perspective, If you have a heavily populated office building that will be air conditioned, you have to take into account the
heat gain from people when calculating the cooling load of your building. By the same token, the heat given off by people can be shown
as a credit when calculating the heating requirements but you can't heat your building with people.

Many buildings are supplementing their energy requirements by installing solar heating of some kind, but no modern buildings in this country are heated with only solar heat.

Pretty tough on days when it's 46 below and the sun is sitting low on the horizon.:lol:
